Perfect location for a 3 day Acadia trip
My husband and I flew in Wednesday, drove up the coast to see all the coastal Maine towns, then arrived at Acadia Yurts for the evening. We spent all of day 2 at the northeast side of Acadia, hiking and enjoying the scenery. On day 3 we hiked the southwest side, perfectly close to the place we were staying. Highly recommend this place - the location is perfect, a quick drive to the more populated side of the park but far enough away it made for beautiful quiet evenings. We stayed in the Beehive Tiny House and it was perfect for the two of us with plenty of amenities. Tip - definitely take the hosts up on the restaurant recommendations. You won’t be disappointed! We loved Harbor Table and Thurston’s.

My stay at Acadia yurts was amazing check in was easy the owners were very nice and located in a cool area just outside of southwest harbor. The house size was perfect for me and my girlfriend for what we need. Will highly recommend to a friend and would love to stay here again in the future

First time in Maine and loved it!
This was my first visit to Maine overall and Acadia specifically. The property was amazing! A very cute setting of a handful of yurts and two tiny homes (we stayed in one of the tiny homes). Karen and Aaron were amazing, the quiet side of the island where the property lives is amazing, just everything was exceptional. I really couldn't recommend this tiny home enough. I've already made recommendations to everyone who asks about my trip and can't wait to visit again in the near future!

Incredible Long May Weekend
We found the Beehive tiny house impeccably clean and thoughtfully designed. A comfortable home base for exploring Acadia, the Carriage Trails, and all the area had to offer. Checkin was smooth with excellent communication. Such a peaceful, quiet spot to enjoy nature and the simple things. Will come again!

Perfect for two
The Beehive was the perfect home base for all our Acadia adventures. The hosts have thought of everything necessary to make this place a home away from home. Five stars!!

Aaron is an Maine native. He was born and raised across the bridge in Trenton and grew up attending local Bar Harbor schools. He has worked in the restaurant industry for the past 15+ years beginning as a prep cook in high school then moving toward general manager. Aaron's favorite extracurricular activity is learning all he can about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. As often as he can, he trains locally and loves sharing this passion with others.

Karen is a transplant. Originally from Chicago she made her way to Maine in 2009 and fell in love immediately. In Acadia she enjoys hiking, trail running, yoga, and long walks on the carriage roads. Karen has been teaching yoga locally for over 6 years and now brings her practice to the Wellness Center (located on site at Acadia Yurts). Karen is also a licensed massage therapist and offers services onsite.

As a couple we have done quite a bit of traveling and through that we have narrowed down the particular way we like to travel. The biggest factor for us is having a furnished kitchen in order to prepare health minded foods to nourish our bodies and support all our outdoor activities. The idea for Acadia Yurts has been brewing for quite some time. Friends of ours live off the grid in a yurt and we greatly appreciate the rustic, romantic feel of the yurt but wanted some of the comforts of home- running water, heat, electricity. From there Acadia Yurts was born. We deeply hope you enjoy our home as much as we do!!
