Great Place to relax
just had an overnight stay and loved it. bring in what you need and shut yourself off from the rest of the world. would be a great place to stay in the depths of winter with two lovely open fire places and probably the most comfy couch I have ever parked myself. we were lucky enough to have a little bit of rain overnight pattering away on the roof. We didn't take advantage of the sauna and plunge pool but we will next time. And yes there will be a next time and it will be a longer stay. Remember to bring everything you need with you, its not a simple excercise to just pop down to the shops. the host lives just out the back but you wont see her, you do have your privacy. Also be aware there is 7km of dirt track, even though the host provides second to none instructions how to find the property, if you arrive after dark, it will be difficult to find and beware of cows on the road before the main gate. drive slowly. To the host. I want to thank you for making this wonderful place available

I am a retired due to disability but still enjoying life as much as I can. I love animals and I have rescue cats and chickens. I also volunteer for the Hunter Valley Wildlife Aid, and I do what I can to tend to Wombats with mange or injured and hurt animals. I absolutely love nature; the bush is my place of peace, tranquility and harmony. Which I am happy to share, I enjoy sharing a story or two if anyone wants a natter. I also love travelling and I have had loads of special adventures but now I am a little more limited in my options. But I take full advantage of the good days and do what I can.

Why they chose this property

Isolation you won't have to worry about neighbours. You can run around naked, lay outside, lay on the ground or in the bath stargazing & spotting shooting stars. You may even be lucky enough to see a wombat, echidna, sugar glider, wild horses & of course kangaroos & goannas. You can have a big party & not worry about disturbing the neighbours. Take an early morning or evening sauna followed by a plunge in the super cool deep bore water plunge pool. Take a walk up the back of the property & climb the ridge to enjoy the sunset view. Just get away from technology for a while. Take a walk & explore the bush. Prepare in advance and use the Smoker just look up Oaklohoma Joe's recipes for ideas. It's big enough to take a piglet. Or just use it as a BBQ. If you plan on staying a while & fancy a night out head to the Sandy Hollow pub only 20 minutes away down the road or the Service Station has great burgers & pizzas. Or a little further is Deman a pretty little town with cafes, a great bakery, butcher, local ladies & mens craft shop, clothes shops, 2 pubs & an IGA . You can also take a walk up the Denman lookout to take in the beautiful vista. Visit the Small Forrest Winery only open weekends or Two Rivers Winery open7 days. 45 minutes down the road is Hollydene Winery where you can get great food too (make a booking) open 7 days. Take a trip to Merriwa which also has all of the benefits of Denman including a bottle museum, a historical society museum & take a look at the magnificent silo art. On the way up to Merriwa stop at the Battery Rock Rest Area to see the unusual basalt rock formations which were formed from a lava flow 35-million years ago. Go to Muswellbrook (a taxi will cost $120 both ways) take in the shops, go to the cinema, the Hunter Belle Cheese factory, try one of the local pubs, or head to Lake Liddell for a swim call first 65412010 to see if you can swim. Or head towards Scone and onto the Washpools at Middle Brook. Mudgee 2hrs away for wine & cheese.

What makes this property unique

ISOLATION its magic so special. It's a unique hand-built stone & native black cypress pine house with a lot of quirky touches. It's not for you if you like modern. I hunted around & found plenty of old & some new furniture which make it comfy & different. The biggest benefit is the lack of noise & the complete privacy. You can run around naked & not be seen by anyone. Sorry I may be here. But I will stay out the way or join you if it doesn't faze you. What you will definitely hear is the birds, frogs & insects. The birds that you can get to see are amazing. Especially if you take an early morning walk up into the bush. You may hear the occasional shooters on neighbouring properties or a distant coal train. The night sky is absolutely amazing if it's not a full moon you will be amazed at the number of stars & planets you can see. No streetlights or other pollution to block the night sky. Make sure you download the Stellarium app or something similar before you come. You can soak up the benefits of the bore water which is full of minerals & comes straight up from 120 meters underground. Enjoy drinking rainwater for your time here (unfiltered) you will taste a huge difference. You can help yourself to the fresh chicken eggs in the coup. They are rescue chickens so sometimes only two or three a day. You can chop up your left over veges or fruit up finely & feed it to them once again rescue chickens their beaks have been singed so they can't eat big pieces. If you go in & one of them drops down in front of you & does a little jig, give them a scratch on the back just above the tail, they love it. Keep the gates closed don't let them out they poop everywhere. Soak up the beautiful energy of the bush & Mount Dangar, Pryamid to the aboriginals & sacred. Enjoy a cuddle or a walk with my cat Puzzle he is a snuggle bunny who loves attention. Keep the windows closed if you don't want him to come in. There are other cats too, they are shy but may pop in.
