Downtown Bungalow in Convenient Walkable Location

Recently refurbished in 2023! This light-filled urban retreat is within easy walking and biking distance to Austin's hot spots. It is located in Clarksville – a charming downtown neighborhood with restaurants, bars, coffee shops and grocery stores. Ideal digs for the true Austin experience.

Walk, ride a bike or scooter around downtown, including Zilker Park - Home of Austin City Limits Festival!

The home features a renovated kitchen with granite countertops, marble backsplash and stainless steel appliances. Large open-concept space with living area, countertop seating, and dining area. Two large bedrooms and one bath. Swim at Barton Springs, bike/kayak Ladybird Lake, eat some fantastic Austin fare, then come home and relax on the front porch!

Even though it looks like there are two front doors, this is NOT a duplex. The rental includes the entire home on a private lot. There is a separate, tiny guest house on back of property (not included when booking the main house but both can be booked together when available, please inquire if interested). Guest house has separately partitioned area on back of lot. Guests staying in guest house will use their own private entrance to maintain privacy and security.

Clarksville is a quaint downtown Austin neighborhood with outstanding casual and fine dining restaurant options, bars, a local coffeehouse, a grocery within easy walking distance, as well as a large public park. For those interested in having a true Austin experience with incredibly close proximity to the downtown core as well as surrounding neighborhoods, this is your spot!

We offer bicycle and electric scooter rentals with free delivery and pickup! Close to Capital Metro bus line. Enterprise rental car also within walking distance on west 5th street. Great spot to use ride sharing services such as Uber or Lyft.

Perfect weekend
We had an amazing weekend with great friends and just needed a place to stay but this place was great. Comfortable and clean, cool from the late summer heat, all nestled in a cute neighborhood. The pictures do it Justice.

What a great place... super clean, lot of space (2 full bedrooms and a large living area) and just perfect location - walkable to all the restaurants and cafes in Clarksville and a quick Uber ride to downtown. The property manager Sean was extremely flexible in supporting us for an early check in. We stayed there for 2 days and wanted to extend our stay. But the house is super popular, so we couldn’t extend it. I would recommend the property to anyone.

good location
Location is very good - close to a number of good restaurants, West 6th street, and easy access to Mopac if you need to get on the highway. The house itself is just ok. Kitchen updated but not much else in the house is except has been recently repainted. Linens all clean and reasonably comfortable. Never could figure out how to turn on lights in living room - though I could take blame there. Would have given 4 stars except had a large roach run across bathroom floor while getting out of shower.

Photos are deceptive
The front porch has a hole so big that a small foot would go straight through to the abyss below. The front steps are in such disrepair that a person could kill themselves walking down them. This place looks great in the photos, but it's obviously run on a shoestring. The bath linens are so old and used that that it's like rubbing your skin with a cactus. And though there is a washer and dryer, there is no detergent. All the linens in the house looks like they were bought at Goodwill about 20 years ago. The property -- "yard"-- is a patch of dead weeds. The best thing about the place is the price.

Great location
This property is a great location for getting around and enjoying Austin. The stay was a good stay with the exception of a water main repair right outside the front door in the middle of the night. Comfortable, convenient and clean describe the property, and the restaurants right down the street are top notch. I recommend this property without reservation.

The house was quite charming and nicely updated. The location was a close drive to many Austin attractions. The only downside was the low amount of hot water. Don't plan on taking a shower if someone else has just showered!

Loved the location
We loved this place. It was a great location for walking around town. A little snug for six people, but completely doable. Also, the property manager was very helpful. The air mattress had a leak, and he had a new one out right away. He was also great at quick replies.

Hot Water Works
All the other reviews say the hot water runs out.....not true for my trip we never ran out and there was 6 and a toddler. This place is great the beds were super comfy it was very clean. The bikes provided were a definite plus it was awesome to ride up the street to the coffee shop only a few blocks away. This was also in a great area we were so close to everything we wanted to do. I can't say enough about our stay good location, privacy fenced,cute little house,fully furnished,hot water, we will definitely return to stay at this house. And the owner/manager was very helpful and got back with me everytime I txt within about 20 minutes. I would recommend it to anyone!!

perfect
I've always liked the cute little craftsman homes that surround Austin. This one was updated well and picturesque. We travelled with our 1 year old an 3 year old and the side yard was perfect for them to play in and there was a pack n play in the closet. We had everything we needed and it was a perfect option for us right on the outskirts of the city with a coffee shop, small grocer and restaurant within walking distance. Beds were comfortable, hot water worked and the place was very clean. I'd recommend this place to anyone and we've stayed and lived in Austin in many different homes and apartments.

Neat and clean. Nice location.
Dishwasher soap (we left some there), laundry detergent and more kitchen towels would be nice. Be sure to clean under the couch... we found a baby bottle there. Otherwise, this was a perfect house and location for the six of us to cook Thanksgiving dinner, turkey and all! Good selection of restaurants within walking distance and close enough to the river for runs and biking. The bikes included were a plus. We enjoyed sitting on the porch too! Thank you for a nice stay!

Great neighborhood! Charming house.
You really can't ask for a more convenient place to stay while in Austin. You can walk or bike to downtown, and there are fabulous restaurants (Josephine House & Jeffrey's, Caffe Medici, Zocalo) and a great little grocery store within three blocks of the house. The house is clean and well-stocked for convenience: soap, shampoo, dish detergent, etc. Our only snafu was that the washing machine was out of order, which required washing some things out by hand and drying them in the dryer.

Quiet neighborhood & overall very clean place to stay.
Nice area close to downtown. Older house with some of the old characteristics. Loved it. The only thing that I would say negative is the shower hot water was only lukewarm when turned all the way on hot. I'm sure it's a safety issue for small children. Just thankful that it was 100 degrees outside and not 40. Other than that great place to stay.

The house was in a great location and perfect for our work trip to Austin. There are many restaurants, a coffee shop and small grocery store within walking distance. The house was perfect for the two of us. We didn't have any issues with the hot water like previous reviews.
