Cozy rustic quiet Lakefront Cottage. Excellent fishing to catch the big one.

You want to be right on the Lake with no stairs? Then this is the spot. Easy road access with no stairs to climb. Cottage is surrounded by trees so great privacy from neighbours. Lake is 10 feet from cottage. Hughes Lake is very private and secluded with no high powered boats. If peace and tranquility is what you are looking for then you have reached your destination. If you are into catching the big one this Lake has lots of fish that are hungry. Cottage is situated between Magnetawan and Sundridge. So if you like to explore, there are Farmers Markets all summer long into the fall. There are tons of walking trails, local restaurants, horesback riding and golfing close by. Cottage has been updated throughout with new septic, kitchen, bathroom and living spaces. All you have to do is arrive and unpack. Cottage has a fire pit with wood supplied and you can walk around the forest to find the perfect marshmallow roasting stick. There is a canoe, 2 kayaks, pedal boat. You must provide your own life jackets. There are 2 bedrooms. One has a queen size bed the other a queen/double bunk bed. The living spaces also have 2 double sofa pullouts. So 6-8 people can sleep comfortably. Inside the cottage there is a 2 piece bathroom with the shower housed outside. A propane BBQ is also available for all your BBQing. It is the perfect escape from the city to create beautiful memories with your family and loved ones.

Cosy cottage with all amenities possible and huge bass and pike in the lake.
Nice and cosy property. You will find more than necessary kitchen implements, utensils and cutlery. Also, to use as we wished: butter, sugar, salt, pepper, olive oil, ground and instant coffee, all kinds of sauces, etc. Nothing is missing for the cook who is cooking away from home. There is plenty of fish in the lake: we caught perch, bass and pike. The latter was longer than my arm and, of the bass we caught, three weighed more than 3 pounds each. There was material to start a fire easily and it was pleasant and relaxing to sit around a fire at night in the open roasting marshmallows. The only problem were the mosquitoes. The host kept in constant touch, answering our questions promptly.

We enjoyed it!
The lake is so beautiful, private, and quiet. Our dogs love to swim in the water, wander around all day. The host is very easy to communicate and respond quickly to our questions. They provided some worms for fishing, although we didn't catch anything. This was the first time that I fish, that's why. We had a very good time at the cottage. Thank you very much!

Why they chose this property

It is the most peaceful surrounding community with everything you may need close by. Bait and Tackle, Grocery Stores, Restaurants, shopping, farmers markets and Library. All within 10 minute drive. People are very friendly and very helpful. Once here it is very hard to drag yourself away to go anywhere. Once your sitting on the dock it is hard to leave.

What makes this property unique

Our property has very easy access right off HWY 124 and located close to Magnetawan, Sundridge, Dunchurch, Burks Falls, Parry Sound, Whitestone. You can access our cottage from either HWY 11 or the 400. We are only 2 hours from Toronto.
Our property is also on level ground so very easy access into cottage and easy access to Lake. No need to go down 100 stairs to lake. The cottage is one level as well so no stairs inside either. Hughes Lake is a smaller lake with very few cottages on it. So you have lots of privacy and the Lake is very quite with no big boats flying by. No weeds off the dock so you can just jump right in.
