Nice property in center of town with very friendly staff. Easy 5min walk to the beach and 1min from 5th avenue. Rooms were spacious and clean, but some appliances were dated.

An unforgettable stay at the Acanto Playa Del Carmen Hotel! Impeccable service, from check-in to check-out. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The amenities were top-notch, especially the stunning terrace view from the top floor. Plenty of dining options within a few meters of walk and the options were diverse and delicious. We can see why people return to this hotel year after year. It’s a true gem. Quiet, charming, comfortable, and clean. It is very close to everything. Lili at the front desk is so very helpful if you need to plan a special event or excursion. She also arranged our transportation to and from the airport. Miguel is the evening concierge and security. He is also very helpful and so kind. He was always waiting to let us in if we got back to the hotel after the door was locked. Always greeting us with a big smile. The continental breakfast has a nice selection and is prepared daily by a very nice lady who’s name I did not get. This hotel is as it looks in the pictures. Spacious rooms, very clean, and so welcoming.

We were so impressed with our stay at Acanto!! This boutique hotel is beautiful, prestine, unique and peaceful considering it is in the heart of 5th Avenue and a few minute walk to the beach. The rooftop patio has an amazing ocean view and bbq - eating and lounging area. The pool is situated in the middle of the open sky courtyard and very clean. The staff were very friendly, the included breakfast was perfect, the suite had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We felt very safe - the doors are locked at night but staff there to let you in at any time of night. The shopping, bars, restaurants, beach clubs, beach - everything you come to Mexico for was right there at our fingertips. We will definitely return! Highly recommend!!

Truly enchanting, this smaller and more intimate hotel proved to be an excellent choice. The suites are beautifully furnished with comfortable beds and tasteful decor. A reasonably stocked kitchen with a full size fridge and stovetop. Staff are wonderful and quick to please. Just steps from 5th avenue it was remarkably quiet and calm. Walk to the beach or enjoy the pool in the courtyard. The rooftop patio has a bar-b-que, tables and chairs, loungers and a fantastic view of the ocean. And there is always a cool breeze. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

We had a one bedroom apartment which was clean and spacious. We had a few problems with the shower and toilet which the maintenance staff addressed, but it still was a bit of a problem. The staff were only too happy to help out with information on where to shop for supplies, restaurants and transportation. Unfortunately, the beach was a bit of a disappointment. There is a constant seaweed problem that they are trying desperately to keep clean. Watch out for the service charges for the beach clubs. They charge 500 Mx or $30 USD per person fee plus charges for your drinks and food. We had 2 drinks each plus 2 appetizers and it cost us $90USD. There is NO notice telling you this until the present the bill.

Absolutely Amazing in EVERY WAY!!! The staff is incredible, they are welcoming and helpful with the most kind hearts! The hotel is beautiful inside and out, comfortable beds, spacious and exactly what we were looking for! If you are looking for a place to stay in this area, this is the best thing you will do!! 1. Staff was 5/5. Very accommodating and helpful. They don’t automatically clean the room or change towels but have no issues doing so upon request. Beach towels are provided upon request. Front desk ladies linked us up with an affiliated tour operator for discounted Chichen Itza tour (which was excellent). We were allowed early check in and late check out free of charge, which helped us manage our time so much better. 2. Location was 4.5/5. It was just off 5th Ave and about a block away from the beach, but that said, it’s relatively far (12mins walk which feels more like 25mins under a 37C sun) from the ADO station which is where the hub of activity seems to be (buses, ferry to Cozumel, Parque de los Fundadores) and the nearest beach isn’t the prettiest section. Mamita’s is just a short walk away though. 3. Property was 4/5. The look of the whole building is charming (just like in photos). The room is spacious and well-appointed, but the age of the property does show. The light fixtures are a bit dim now, the shower head has uneven water pressyre and there’s a bit of an “old” smell. All in all, not bad but could use an update.

Mexican charm

Such a quaint, charming little hotel just steps from 5th avenue. Wonderful service, clean rooms and grounds with a decent breakfast. Room was spacious as well as the bathrooms, a bottle of wine was given due to the holidays and complimentary small bottles of water were left by the door. A wonderful hotel We’d definitely stay at again.
