Unfortunately, we were mistaken in thinking that this property was in a more central location than it was. The area in which the property is located is on the main road in a very much less than desirable part of Hull. It was an unpleasant and unnerving walk from the property into the centre of Hull Old Town and the building which it is attached to is boarded up. The property itself was interesting architecturally and retains some lovely internal features, however we were greeted by an overwhelming smell of Indian food within the flat as well as a number of flies. As windows cannot be opened, this pervasive smell remained for the duration of our two-night stay. The bathroom, which is modern and had a nice shower, was small and without ventilation - this meant that the woodwork in the bathroom has rotted and the room smelled strongly of damp. We were kept awake by floodlights from the garage across the road and there are only thin vertical blinds. Overall, we were disappointed as we enjoyed Hull and the surrounding area but were very reluctant to return to the property in the evening. We were relieved to leave!
