A beautiful hotel with the most fabulous Art Nouveau elevator. The rooms are updated with very nice bathroom fixtures.

Worst stay ever!!! Save your money and don’t stay here. We got in at 1pm. Was told to come back at 3pm (which is fair) as our 2 rooms weren’t ready yet. The lady Wafa said go have some some lunch and we will have your 2 rooms ready at 3pm. We went for lunch and came back at 3:30pm. This time the guy at the front desk, Manuel said our rooms are not ready yet. Told us to wait for another one hour in a very rude manner. Told him we were promised 3pm and he simply said he can’t do anything about that. Then we finally get our rooms at 5pm only to find out they are not connecting rooms. So I called him from the room and told him they are not connecting rooms and he starts arguing with me and saying they are connected which we could see with our eyes that they were not. Then my wife goes downstairs and they put us in a different side of the hotel and finally settle into our connecting rooms around 6pm only to find out that the WiFi is only connecting in one room and not connecting in the other room, drops immediately as we go to that room. Called them and once again was told they can’t do anything about that. Very rude behavior and very rude service. Will not recommend this place to anyone!!

Staff was polite and helpful. Facility was very nice. The room we got had a non-functioning air conditioning but the reception upgraded us to another room. We later found that Einstein and Mme Curie stayed at this hotel in 19xx!

Honeymoon Stop - Brussels!

Check In: we arrived just after noon, and was able to quickly leave our luggage and head out. The process to check in that afternoon went quite smooth and those at reception were very friendly. The room itself is quite dated. I appreciate the traditional European decorations and feel of the whole room, but the wallpapers, carpets and bathroom can definitely use an upgrade. The shower door was faulty and I had to angle it quite far into the shower so that water doesn’t leak outside onto the floor, making it quite uncomfortable to shower inside due to limited space. The area was amazing though, we were right by the metro station, and everything we needed (supermarket, restaurants, cafes, shops, and landmarks) were all within a short walking distance.

Great old building but the rooms are very dated. The beds are very old. The shower needs much work like a total replacement. My 200 probably needs a complete overhaul. Fantastic location and a great bar. Walking distance to Grand Place and most restaurants.

Nice old hotel, could use more TLC

Very nice old hotel with a lot of character. They need to do small upkeep and maintenance to make this place truly great. Small details like marks on walls, our toilet was stained, etc. Nothing too bad, just to get to that next level of a true 5 star they need to pay more attention to detail.

Dated, but lovely... street under construction.

I love the reception we received at this hotel even if we were given the honeymoon suite in error, briefly. It has authentic charm and the rooms are big and clean. The glory of this hotel is faded but I loved it. We never ate or had coffee at the café as the waiter was so rude we left before ordering. The entire place out front is ripped up and under construction, but we never heard noise from it. That certainly makes me not recommend it at this time. Front desk men were great.

Beautiful antique hotel, excellent location

I stayed at the Metropole Hotel in Brussels for 2 nights. It is a very stunning preserved hotel. The staff is very helpful. My bedroom looked amazing, but it was across a conference room. The bed is uncomfortable, they should look into new mattresses :) and fix the window. The location is amazing, just a few minutes away from the square and there is parking across the street on the street. Unfortunately, I cam when there was a lot of construction going on.

Rooms in the newer part of the hotel were lovely.

Initial room was horrible. Very small, dark and VERY RED! Upgraded to a fabulous room in the newer section of the hotel. Hotel location was perfect. Close to shopping, metro, food and sites.

Charming hotel fell apart on service at end

All was very good, except for when it came to the air conditioning. It was not working in our room (note that connecting kids room was fine). We called for maintenance (twice!) and they were responsive but did not fix the problem, and did not come back to check on it. It was very difficult to sleep! We commented about this (oh ya, and the missing shower door!!) to the staff behind the desk and she called the manager. The staff behind the desk was very nice and I feel she did her best, but the manager instructed her that he could not do anything more than remove a small local telephone charge. It's a shame that this charming hotel fell apart on this service side.

An elegant lobby greets you as soon as you walk in. Staff were very friendly and the area is a close walk to many major sites of interest. Construction going on in front of the hotel on the street but it didn't interfere with sleep. Paid parking is across the road for just under 15 euro for 24 hours.

Grand hotel a bit past its' prime

A bit disappointed with our stay at Metropole. Had to wait over 2 hours for our room to be ready to check-in. Room was ok - bathroom nice and big but room was a bit dated. Stayed for 2 nights during hot spell of 35 + degrees. Air conditioning couldn't really handle it (27 degrees in our room) and front desk had no fans to lend (although they did have for staff behind the desk). Location was great - Metro stop just outside the door and very close to Grand Place. Construction out front is a bit inconvenient but not too much of a problem. The lobby and main level common areas are quite impressive - too bad the rest of the hotel was not.

Hotel Metropole: Majestic but tired

Terrific location, majestic building with deep history. Excellent staff. From especially plumbing to electricity to WiFi to amenities poor.
