Let’s start with the positive…the bed was very comfortable and the hotel is in a good location. Overall a lot of issues with this property. We had 2 rooms and the noise factor was a real problem. With one room the street noise level was so high that we thought one of the windows was open. With the other room very loud music that went on until 2:45am. The restaurant and any food options were virtually non-existent in the hotel. Permanently closed. The valet parking situation was exceptionally flawed. As we did not have the opportunity to self-park we were at the mercy of the ONE parking attendant. We were late for our dinner reservation due to having to wait at least 20 minutes for the car to be brought up. At one point the valet brought our car up and proceeded to drive down the wrong way with our car on the one way street in front of the hotel. When we arrived early there was no early check in available, which was fine, but our luggage was stored in a non-secured area of the lobby. We will not be returning to the RL Hotel Baltimore.

Excellent stay. Staff couldnt be nicer. The decor in the hotel is absolutely beautiful. Eclectic lighting and creative art. Loved it, recommend it. Close to all things near the harbor too. Great local restaurants.

Poor Customer Service and Cleanliness

Tried calling ahead about parking - no answer. When we checked in, the staff seemed lie it was an intrusion. When we called down to report the poor condition of the room, again there was no answer. There had been smoking, the fire detector was wrapped in an ice bag to rpevent it from going off from the smoking, the upholstery on the one chair was severely stained, the bathroom was not clean and there was mold in the shower. I went back to the lobby and shared this info and was told they would "make a note of it." The next morning, I asked an unmasked front desk attendant if we could change rooms. They agreed to this (but again very disengaged and unapologetic), and when we moved rooms later in the day, the second room was much much better. There are much nicer hotels in the immediate area at the same price point, so would recommend those first. Won't be staying here again.

The hotel has huge potential with a very funky feel. Unfortunately it is extremely noisy! Paper thin walls and you can hear every noise from inside, and outside. The room was unique but very open and echo’d which made for sound travel from other rooms horribly! The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows. The bathroom didn’t fit the decor at all! It felt like it belonged in a nursing home, and the toilet leaked all over the floor with every flush. And it would run loudly in bursts throughout the night. There is the bare basics in the room. No mini fridge.

The good aspects - front desk staff were very friendly and helpful; the room was large and the wifi was reliable. The shortcomings: - The thermostat and heat didn't seem to work and it can get cold overnight in November. - Housekeeping only made an appearance once over a five days visit. - The walls seemed thin and not at all soundproof. If the alarm clock went off in an adjacent room, it sounded like it was right beside you. - The windows blinds would always jam; the ironing board stand wouldn't stand, the toilet would run constantly, and bathroom tiles were held in place with Scotch tape. Overall it feels like management has decided that this is a discount hotel and are not putting any effort into upkeep.

Amazing stay!

I absolutely adored my stay at this hotel and would book it again! The space is clean, modern and within walkable distance of a lot of areas of downtown Baltimore.

I’d look elsewhere

The first room wasn’t clean yet so we had to swap—no big deal. The second room’s smoke detector was beeping, after a call down someone came up, took the battery out and never replaced it. There was a bunch grossness on the ceiling, looked like someone was popping bottles in there. The ceiling around the shower appeared to be moldy as well. The vibe in the lobby was off-putting and the armed security guards didn’t exactly make us feel safer.

Not as good as use to be...

We stayed in this hotel in July 2018 and really liked it so thought we would go back. Lets just say covid put a huge hit on this hotel. No restaurant inside or room service only a coffee machine and no daily housekeeping. The staff is very friendly and nice but I dont think we will come back. The room was chilly at times and could not do anything with the heat, stayed same temp even when adjusting temp.

RL Hotel

Decent for a one night stay. This no frills hotel offered moderately sized rooms. The bed was hard and the street noise continued throughout the night. Our television only received one channel and it took several calls to the front desk for additional pillows. The bathroom was stylish with a huge shower and nice toiletries. The front desk staff was pleasant. I wouldn’t plan to stay a week here, but was okay for one night stay.
