No point, Hotel is shut down

Absolutely the worst. Checked in with no staff just a key left on front desk, elevator broke on way up to floor with luggage, old razors left from previous guests in bathroom and shower, dirty hairy sheets, shared patio with other rooms and door to patio couldnt be locked as was previously broken into. Safe was not bolted down could just pick it up, lock on safe punched out no way to lock it. Then i spot someone pulling into parking area unloading stuff to hotel and i ask them about who to contact about our room - zero staff anywhere, and it turns out they are the owners (not the mgmt company) and they let me know the hotel is shutting down the very next day Nd they just returned from the lawyers signing the shut down of the hotel due to MIJ poor management...now my wife and I are in Mexico for a week with nowhere to stay...hotels.com helped us recover the remaining week of our vacation but what a gong show...

If you are looking for a quiet and affordable place by the ocean, this property offers that. However, the beach front was very dirty, the breakfast option offered by the restaurant was not great. If you are a big eater, don’t depend on the restaurant breakfast option. Getting to town for more food options is like an hour walk using the beach front.

L’hôtel manque beaucoup d’entretien et de mise au niveau! Les lits étaient confortables mais la literie n’était pas propre ! La piscine manquait de nettoyage et la mini plage devant l’hôtel était plein d’algues et de déchets. Je ne recommande pas cette hôtel à moins d’une bonne mise à niveau. Dommage car petite hôtel tranquille et pas très loin de Cancun,Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen

We arrived later in the evening. All was ready for us. Security made sure we were who we were and I can say he was very friendly. Breakfast was good!

The staff was great, responding quickly to any questions or concerns. The site is incredible, apparently reno's are coming. The drawback, is distance to town, shopping and restaurants. A diamond in the rough.

Although it's a little far from Puerto Morelos, the breakfast was included and the restaurant is very good with great service, good menu choices, and very delicious at a reasonable cost. We had breakfast and supper there, and spend the day in Puerto Morelos. There are no bicycle rentals available that I'm aware of, and it's not really feasible to walk to Puerto Morelos, so you are best off if you have a car.

Staff was really helpful and the room was not so bad in terms of size and view, although not enough to compensate the lack of a beach and the poor conditions of the installations in general, got stuck in the elevator and AC was not working properly, I was not able to cancel…….

We will be back

Casa del Puerto is an intimate, small hotel overlooking the ocean. The rooms are huge, exceptionally clean with a balcony equipped with a day bed and a hammock. From there, one can enjoy spectacular sunrises and listen to the waves. The place is beautifully quiet, with excellent staff. There is no beach to sunbathe unfortunately (the ocean comes crushing to the wall) but you can go for walks or lounge around the pool. We will certainly be back as we truly enjoyed the place and were able to relax there. There is a restaurant with tasty food. Yes, you need a car as it is far from everything (which we also enjoyed). Restaurants are 15 minutes away by car with lots of choices.

Pros - property is very clean and well maintained. Great rooms - large, quality materials, great views. Quirky location might appeal to those that want to be away from it all. Staff is friendly and help. Con - access is a turn off - a longish drive on an unlit one-lane dirt road. OK if you don't want to go anywhere, but a private place in Puerto Morelos is better choice. Seaweed is worse than in PM which has clean-up equipmnt Services are lacking / don't work. One overpriced food and drink option that closes at 9:30 & NO nearby options. Told against hotel rules to bring any of our own beer or food onto the site. WIFI did not work (a recurring theme) so no TV or movies. Checked out after one night. Front desk refused to refund our (3) unused nights saying "Expedia was holding the reservation money (they weren't) and it would only be refunded after approval by Expedia." Not true. After 4 days management had not responded to Expedia's phone and emails. We contacted Expedia. Hotel mgmt. lied to Expedia saying we'd been offered compensation (we hadn't). Truth was the local desk person couldn't reach manager (no internet for email and unavailable on the phone). The desk person was unwilling to do anything without prior management approval - probably lack authority. Our booking clearly allowed for cancellation with a one night penalty - management refused to acknowledge. The situation was only resolved directly through Expedia who deserve credit for great service.

Beautiful peaceful boutique hotel

Lovely small quiet hotel. Beautiful view of the ocean from every room. Rooms are large and amazing. Pool is really nice & lots of loungers. Breakfast is included. A plate of fresh fruit and a Mexican type breakfast. Something different each day. I've heard lots of complaints about it, but we liked it. If you want a large American breakfast, go to an all-inclusive. Meals were a bit pricey at the restaurant and it's about a 10 minute drive to town so it's best to have a rental car if staying here. A lot of great restaurants in town. We used the bikes a few times and loved walking the beach. We really enjoyed our stay.

this is under new management has has some tweaks to fix. We didn't eat here, as we found it to be expensive. breakfast was included, and was a little different each day. (mostly cold). We were with another couple and their mini fridge worked good, and ours didn't. their TV had some english channels, but ours had only 1.(different equipment). we had good maid service, but the other couple didn't. (towels not changed for 3 days). Weeds on the beach weren't picked up regularly, so we were unable to sit there. The front desk made our taxi (300 pesos to go into town) calls for us, and were pleasant. Difficult to get ice for your room, as the bar staff doesn't like to give it out. (There is no ice machine on site) the resort is quiet, cozy, clean, and peaceful.

A few adjustments and it will be perfect!

We booked two rooms for our friends and us, the rooms are very tastfully decorated and comfortable.We had room #103 which has a water leak under the right sink which we did know about until we slipped on the very slippery floor. When I told the front desk they already knew about this. They should fix this before someone falls and hurts themselves. We found the hotel stafff attentive but did find the drink and food prices a little high.

The hotel was difficult to find at night. The directions had an error in Left for Right and the hotel sign is very small. The room is lovely and very large. The property is pretty and clean. It's a small establishment so the restaurant needs a "heads up" if you wish to have a meal. Loved it and book there again. Off season made it such a good deal.
