My wife and I had to cut our say at this hotel short. Overall it was an ok experience. However, there are certain things that this hotel lacks. Please note that the pool is great, but they do book it out for parties, and therefore, if you are staying at the hotel, you may not be able to use it if it has been booked out. Also, a large school group was staying here and the hotel had no control over them. There were kids boxing outside our room until midnight and nothing was done about this even after we spoke to staff. If you get lucky, you may have no problems here. But there are several better options around Oaxaca for a lot less cost. Also, this is 3 star hotel at best.

We enjoyed our stay. The excellent management team made sure that our rooms were clean every day. The team was also very helpful and friendly in answering all our questions. We also appreciated the location of this hotel - though slightly outside the city center, we enjoyed our walks to the different attractions within the city like the market, etc. The pool was an extra treat! If you like a simple and comfortable stay, you would definitely appreciate Hotel Oaxaca Dorado.

Oaxacan Gem

Great place! 15 minute walk to Zocalo square, Santo Domingo and other old Oaxaca streets and buildings.. friendly staff, great pool, and the restaurant served tasty food. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed on the main floor and our room window was left open on several occasions, which was a bit concerning. And it was noisy in the mornings. Cleanliness was good and staff was friendly and helpful. Overall a good stay.

They can do better

Our check-in took nearly half an hour as the clerk tried to figure out why Expedia's reservation number was different than our's. Finally he acknowledged we had a room to stay in. The room had no bedside table lamp, hairdryer, Kleenex, or screens on the windows, so opening them allowed bugs to fly in. The bed had a sweaty vinyl mattress cover we had to remove, and we had to ask the front desk for a roll of toilet paper. One of the overhead lights was burnt out. The hotel is on one of the most heavily trafficked through-ways in Oaxaca so diesel trucks and buses careen by regularly. You can hear these inside the hotel, as you can many of the other guests. The front door is an underground parking garage.

Es antiguo el hotel pero limpio, cuidado seguro. Solo les pido que quiten de atención al cliente a Uriel pésima persona, actitud de cero servicio, cero humano, burlón, si tienes un problema en lugar de apoyar, se burla de ti y en tu cara, no afronta su responsabilidad y no es de confiar, lo demás es muy bueno, la encargada una dama y las de aseo excelentes. El es mala persona,pero igual tiene una vida poco linda por eso es así.

Un día en Oaxaca solo tuve oportunidad de estar solo un día y solo me dió tiempo de recorrer el centro de la ciudad,conocer algunas de sus iglesias,de ir a comer unas tlacuyas y un mezcal. Hay muchas cosas que comprar artesanías. el hotel queda a unos 15 min caminando hacia el zocalo
