Room safes are all non-functioning, had to wait to check in over an hour (given an excuse about cleaning staff problems) but a walk-in at that time got a room immediately, fridges are dirty, moldy, and hardly cool, carpets are stained and filthy, walls are dirty, one day didn't receive any housekeeping, had to ask for tissue 3 times before finally getting it. Staff were pleasant but full of excuses about why things weren't up to a better standard.

Not what I expected

Long stride short: 1. Don't expect staff friendliness - very arrogant overall except for the owner who is a sweetheart 2. Don't expect complimentary tea or cofee in the room 3. Breakfast is just croissants 4. Hotel is not well kept 5. The only positive is the location. I would not recommend it at all.

While the staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was fantastic, the hotel rooms themselves need a major overhaul. The room I stayed in was rather dated and needs some major TLC. The bedspread was stained and torn. The pillows small and old, the mattress hard and uncomfortable. The carpet was in rough shape, dirty and major stains everywhere....I would not consider walking barefoot or even sock feet on it. Although towels were exchanged everyday and bed made, there was not much else done in terms of housekeeping. I am not a fussy person and did not complain to the hotel staff about the room. I didn't see the point as there is not much they could have done. When I return to Paris, I will be staying at a different hotel. Plenty to choose from at the same price point that have cleaner and more freshened up rooms and decor.

Great location at a great price!

I stayed at this hotel with my girlfriend for 7 nights and we had a lovely time in Paris. The most impressive aspect of this hotel is the LOCATION. It is located about a less than 5 minute walk from Villiers metro station. It is a central location to all the iconic landmarks (Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, etc.) and is located between Charles de Gualle and Opera metro station (connecting stations to CDG airport and RER station to Versailles). Hotel staff all spoke English and were very friendly. The rooms were kept in a very clean condition day after day. We opted out of the hotel breakfast option because there were so many delicious options on the street adjacent to the hotel. Lots of bakeries, grocery stores, and cafes at affordable prices. We had a croissant every morning! This hotel at such a fantastic price is a "you get what you pay for" kind of hotel. There is no automatic temperature regulation (we went during winter so we had a heater) and no AC for the summer. Also, the beds were not very comfy but

Perfect location. Perfect staff. Perfect choice.

A street with every type of market, store and shop and restaurant within 30 seconds walk, the Arc de Triomphe a 20-30 minute walk, the Champs de Elysees closer than that, 1 minute walk to the metro and proximity to many attractions make this hotel the perfect location. You can walk, take the metro or hail a cab for a short ride to almost anything there is to see in Paris, including a 1 hour subway ride to Versailles Hotel staff are great, giving us a map and pointing us in the right direction immediately on arrival because they know how complicated the streets of Paris can be. We could not have been more pleased or happy than we were at this hotel. It was a great place to lay our heads after a long flight and just got better throughout our stay as we met more staff and explored the area and the city. You won't regret your choice. Dave

Super Stay!

If you have not been to Paris before then you may not know that even apartments are teeny compared to North America standards (and pricey). This hotel has concerned and helpful staff, clean, functional rooms in a safe part of town and a short walk to Villiers metro station. It is very well situated and this was not my first trip to Paris. It is not my usual hotel but I sas meeting up with someone already in town so booked a room at their hotel. No regrets at all. Would definitely return!

Just OK

If you don't mind a stained carpet, a stained bed spread and blanket, a little mould in the bathroom, and a room that is much too small for two people, then it is fine. There are multiple market stands in the neighbourhood that sell a variety of products (can't say that they are inexpensive though). The subway (Métro) is nearby which makes accessing la Cité and multiple tourist sites very easy (Paris has an excellent subway system). Apparently the hotel is reasonably priced for Paris.

Loud, no wifi, security problems with maids

Cleaning staff repeatedly left my hotel room door unlocked and once they even left it adjar. Walls were paper thin-I could even hear my neighbor snoring. Wifi went out for 12+ hr periods multiple times.

Excellent service - easy walk to metro

The staff's kindness was remarkable, and the hotel was easily accessible by Metro and cab. Rather than eating breakfast at the hotel, I ate at the Brioche Doree around the corner for less than 3 Euros each morning. Fantastic. The bathroom was sparkling clean, so you can't beat this place for the $.

Good location, not so great rooms.

When we checked in, the receptionist gave us a twin bedroom when we had booked for double bedroom. When we reached the room, we realized it was impossible to fit 4 people in that room and found out that the receptionist made a mistake and we were transferred to a join bedroom. Size-wise, I have no complains as ours was a double bedroom. The location is good - close to bakeries, laundry, metro station. There was a mediterranean restaurant with very reasonable prices, plus Domino's pizza was one block. It's a very old hotel and maintenance wasn't good. I could feel the spring on my bed while sleeping but didn't care much as I would be very tired after exploring Paris all day. It should be called a 2-star hotel. The staff was friendly and attended to us immediately when we requested iron and replacement of bathroom bulbs. It is good for the price paid.

May stay

I was very pleased with the location, room and service provided by the hotel staff. The location was close to a Metro down the street from a market and convenience store. Had to metro to most main sites but very quick. Room was clean and staff assisted very well with all requests.

Villiers Paris- Excellent service for a pretty old hotel

The service was excellent, the people working the reception were exceedingly polite, especially Anna. They really helped me with the tour development, recommending places to visit and helping me make a map that would make it more convenient for me to see places of interest. The heater in the room was broken, and the room itself was pretty small. It's pretty standard for European hotels, so I'm alright with that. Overall I would recommend the hotel.
