We stayed here for 5 nights. Front desk staff were kind and courteous, easy to request late checkout/early check-in. Room was clean and spacious. King bed is, as has been the case in most of Australia, two twins pushed together. Locations is very good, near The old downtown and darling harbour with lots of shopping nearby. Only disappointment was the breakfast. Charging 30$(25 if booked the night before) for their extremely bare offerings for breakfast is beyond the pale. I’m used to hotels overcharging for meals, but honestly, this was another level. Perhaps unsurprisingly we chose not to eat here after seeing the offerings.

This place was excellent and we would stay there again. They were so accommadating and really lovely staff. My only complaint would be the bathroom sinks are rather small so there would be water on the floor after.

I really enjoyed the apartment style hotel. It had everything we needed. The king bed was excellent. The location was excellent, with short walks to food shopping and attractions. The room could have been cleaner though. Walls, stove and behind the couch were a bit grungy.

The Mantra on Kent is in a great location. Easy access to Darling Harbor and a 20 minute walk from Circular Quay and othed tourist attractions. Would book this hotel again if we go back to Sydney. The washer and dryer in our room was a pleasant surprise. Thank you

I returned to this property after a long stay 2 years ago. I expected similar room quality. What I received was a cracked walled, in an in renovated room, sadly lacking in any comparison to my previous stay. Electric kettle/coffee maker was so crusted and dirty that I used a pot to boil water for coffee! I complained but as the city was sold out I wasn’t offered any form of compensation other than a basic apology letter. This is my third stay at Mantra properties in Australia and sadly my last.

A great location

This hotel is within easy walking distances of many major attractions in the downtown Sydney area. I really like the convenience of the kitchen and laundry facilities especially when staying for a number of days. The bathroom in my unit needed upgrading though. The shower tiles and grout were in fairly poor condition. Staff were very friendly though. Very helpful. Would stay here again.

Close to city central and the Harbour.

Hotel was conveniently located in the city central.Walking distance to the Darling Harbour and shops. The room was just the right space, with a small sitting area and dining. Glad that laundry and dryer were in the room as well. Breakfast was redundant. No variety at all for the 4 days that we were there. Would have been nice if they put a little effort on their menu. The staff were very helpful and courteous. Overall would recommend this.

4 Comfortable Nights at the Mantra on Kent

The hotel was conveniently located minutes from Darling Harbour. This proximity gave us access to many restaurants, Saturday night fireworks and ferry to Circular Quay. The staff was pleasant, efficient and professional. The studio apartment was clean and large and we had a partial view of the harbour. Kitchen and laundry facilities were very useful. Overall, we were very happy with the accommodation.

Good Hotel Choice but High Wifi Charges

This hotel benefits from an excellent location. It is very near to Darling Harbour and within walking distance of the CBD. The room was clean, the service was good, and we really enjoyed having a room located on the top floor with a great view of Darling Harbour. We also appreciated the cooking facilities (a reasonably good sized fridge, two burner stove-top, kettle, microwave, toaster, and adequate dishes) which enables guests to look after their own meals if they wish to do so. Overall, this hotel is a very good choice for a visit to Sydney. However, in my opinion, the charges for Wifi ($15 per day or $40 for a 3 day stay) are ridiculously high in this day and age. With the rates charged by this hotel, Wifi should simply be included as part of the overall package.

Good Location for reasonable price.

We stayed for four nights and were pleased with the location and the facilities. It is very close to Darling Harbour and shopping and within walking distance to the Opera House and Botanic Gardens.

good with one exception

Great location and the staff were fantastic. The room had everything we needed but had a strange odour (mouldy?). Overall a good experience but couldn't get past the smell. Likely not all rooms.

Great location

This hotel is ideally located: minutes from Darling Harbour and all major shopping areas and an easy walk to the Botanical Gardens and the Sydney opera House. Our room on the 20th floor was quiet, well-equipped and had everything we needed for a wonderful week in Sydney. I liked the minimalist decor and simple yet very comfortable furniture, and with temperatures as high as 43 degrees Celsius I was grateful to have quiet, well-functioning air-conditioning. The only negative was the very poor (and expensive) taxi service to and from the hotel, and having asked the hotel to book us a cab made no difference. (We did take cabs in other areas of Sydney and had no problems.) Overall, though, I would definitely recommend this hotel; the location is perfect, the price very reasonable and the rooms have everything you need for a very pleasant stay.
