Needs major upgrades. Carpet in the hall and rooms are old and badly stained. Bathroom is old. Bathtub is dangerously slippery for showers. Need to be replaced with shower stalls. Bar is very nice with friendly bar tenders. However chairs are old and wobbly.

Really bad service at the reception as didn’t check in after 4pm even the hotel is very quiet because of a big protest in KL. I sat at the lobby and was told to be soon until I got mad and approached the front desk again since my arrival at 10am.Just sad sad sad never come back again

Filthy!!!

I blame my experience on the Royale Chulan and Hotels.com marketers! I usually stay at the five star Royale Chulan Hotel in Conlay Rd. It was marketed before as Royale Chulan Bukit Bintang. Now they renamed this dump as that! Hence, to my shock and disappointment I was told I got the wrong hotel when I attempted to check in! This dump has smelly corridors, smoked filled rooms, peeling walls, wet washrooms! A piece of filth! Because I made all my appointments at the hotel I couldn’t change hotels! You, Hotels.com will not receive my continued business and, of course the hotel chain will not be patronized by me from now on!

Fisrt visit to malaysia

We had a good time there. The staff very helpful and welcoming. The only thing that we found not too good was that there was not enough channels on tv. But overall it was good. Will surely stay at royale bintang on my next trip to malaysia

Worth the price

Good price for a decent hotel in the middle of a shopping district. Walking distance to monorail and lots of malls and easy walk to Petronius tower pedway. Arrived early but couldn't check in till two- room was ready right at two and the process was smooth. Hotel room was tired looking but the view was awesome. Carpets could use a good steam clean and walls could use a fresh coat of paint. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. Bathroom was a good size but the hot water was scarce. The cleaning staff were very accommodating and always brought lots of bottles of drinking water. Front desk was hard to get ahold of. Don't book your taxi through the concierge- we did, we gave the concierge a $20 deposit and when the driver came to pick us up there was quite a bit of confusion and we were sent with a driver who did not have the deposit but the fare was much cheaper than the concierge originally quoted. Just go outside and get the cab yourself- there are always plenty of cars waiting in front of the hotel. Overall, we would recommend this hotel to people looking for a good sleep in KL.

Good location but bad service

Royale Bintang KL is certainly in a great location; for shoppers and night life lovers in KL. It also is located in probably the busiest location in KL. However, the quality of service is a completely different story. I booked for a King sized bedroom I got a queen sized bed. I requested for an adepter on the second day I arrived never got it till the day I left. My room phone was not working for the last two days....

We are regular guests at the luxurious Royale Chulan in Penang, so were shocked by its slovenly twin in KL. The bathroom sink leaked, leaving a puddle of water on the floor. The shower also fell directly on the floor, so it was always necessary to wade through the bathroom. The wallpaper in the hallways is peeling and the room doors, which were once white are now grey and stained. The breakfast was a mess of wilted vegetables, fruits drowning in their own juices and greasy curries. On the livelier side, the hotel is surrounded by street food, buskers--and endless teams of prostitutes patrolling the sidewalks until dawn.
