The resort was huge, beautiful and well maintained. Excellent amenities, activities and very clean. I wish that we could make reservations for dinner ourselves on the Meliá app. Also, I wish some of the non-buffet restaurants were open for lunch instead of dinner only.

Beautiful beach. Rooms nice but cleaning staff did not wipe down surfaces or restock items even with tipping. Trolleys not always on time as beach a distance away from Reserve. Restaurants - Vento and Grill excellent.

2nd family vacation at The Reserve Paradisius PC

It was not as pleasant as our visit last year. Maybe it was because we went in January rather then March. The resort was not as busy and therefor seemed to be operating at a lower ebb. The Kids Club schedule seemed to be truncated (less engaging program activities as well as earlier closing hours in the evening). The 7pm closing, did not allow us this time around to have a date night during our trip like we had managed during our previous visits. There were a lot more Spanish speaking and older visitors and not as many young families this time around and because of that my children did not have a lot of playmates on hand, which was one of their strongest memories from our last visit. I do think a lot of the differences between our two experiences was derived from the timing of our visit. If you are traveling with young children, perhaps March might be a better time then January to visit. As well, this year my daughter and I returned home riddled with mosquito bites that were absent last year. However if you do plan to come earlier in the year you may not need to take the Family Concierge upgrade, the reservation only restaurants were not busy and the palapas on the beach and by the reserve pool were abundant and could be had by anyone who came early (9-10 am) so a concierge was not really needed to pave the way.

Positives outweigh the negatives

All what you read on this and other sites as negative comments are there. All ehat you read as positive are there as well. In my opinion the positives outweigh the negatives and the hotel is worth booking for a relaxing vacation. I would like to mention that we got the reservation to all restaurants that we wished to eat in. Make your researvh concerning Club Melia Program as you will be invited for a presentation and a pressured sales pitch to make you invest. I did not as this program is not for me.

Nice Hotel for the money

Had a nice vacation with my family at the PPC. Food was good. Vento, The Grill, Aqua, and Mole we really enjoyed. Fuego, not as much and Bana I would avoid as it was terrible. The beach was fantastic. It was red flagged most of the week but that suited me just fine as my son and I brought our hand planes and body surfed the great waves. We enjoyed the spacious One Bedroom Family Concierge Suite. The wifi was great throughout the hotel. Our family concierge, Diosmery Francisco was THE BEST. She took care of all of our needs and was always just a phone call away. I would recommend her if you are heading. We are travel saavy and were shocked by how rude some of the other guests were. The staff is there to take care of you but they are not your slaves for the week. Treat them with respect and don't be so cheap. It will not kill you to tip 1 or 2 dollars here and there as they really appreciate it. As a note to the hotel, please improve on your shuttle service between the rooms, beach and restaurants. They don't run often enough so line ups of people end up waiting for one and you get pushing and shoving by some guests to get on. It's not hard as all you have to do is take a look at your sister hotel, the Palma Real, at how they operate the service flawlessly. It would really benefit your guests. I would definitely go back if the price is right. If I had to pay top dollar, then there are better hotels that I have stayed at in Punta Cana.

Great hotel and staff

The experience at The Reserve was wonderful. The staff was very friendly. Just a point of caution though, they will try to sell you more services and excursions than you need or want, since it is tied to their income.

Punta Cana- The Reserve at Paradisus Review

My experience was excellent. The staff is very helpful and nice. They all went above and beyond to assist. As my guest and I arrived at the resort we were greeted with champagne. Our name was listed on a stand as we arrive, that personal touch was a huge bonus. The food and drinks were great. Lots of options to choose from. The trip included, free activities. We went on a catamaran which was the highlight of the trip. The only issue we faced was the shower would not drain the water and was building up as we used it through out the day. Overall, a great experience and I would certainly return!

Great hotel on very nice beach

Fantastic hotel and location. All the restaurants were very good and a couple were excellent. Did Royal Service so enjoyed the benefits of having all the reservations taken care of, adult pool and reserved beach. Would go back.

Not bad but over priced

The hotel was the nice were pleasant but for the same experience and quality you can go to a resort which costs less. Also, arrange your own transfer as the hotel did not help with this aspect in a satisfactory manner. However, the hotel was quiet and pleasant and the staff were very friendly.

The Reserve upgrade is worth it!

The Reserve part of this hotel is really worth the extra cost: Family concierge was amazing (ours was Asia), check in and check out airconditioned and fast, location to the Reserve pool and Reserve buffet was perfect, always a beach chair and towels available, also the ability to reserve a pool or beach cabana! Asia, our concierge, also suprised us every night with something special in our room, like a bottle of wine and fruit or a bubble bath poured and ready. The kid's club was much more than we expected, and our 7 yr old girl loved it! The rest of the Paradisus was gorgeous and well spread out. You will need to use the transport carts to get around in the intense heat of the day, and they arrive every 15 mins or so. The beach is pristine and gorgeous! There are restaurants and bars steps away, with lots of neat seating and lounging options day or night. The main pool is large and well decorated, and has a swim up bar and grill. Finding towels after 3pm was hard though. The restaurants are in different locations and easy to get to on the transport cart system. Fuego was inside and fantastic! If you have the chance opt for Passion as well, it is an upcharge of 45 per person, but comes with a 9 course tasting menu that is truly remarkable. Wear bug spray to the outdoor rest.
