Basic but Good

Very basic room. Nice bathroom. Staff are excellent. Our room was small with no additional facilities such as coffee/tea options and no fridge. Location was very good though so made up for some deficiencies. Best thing was the breakfast - eggs, meats, cheese, buns, and great coffee.

nice hotel close to Duomo and very central

The hotel staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Breakfast had some very nice pasties and good coffee. The rooms were pretty good but our room opened up to an alley with a restaurant and was very noisy till early morning.

close to downtown

really close to downtown which is great. old building so facilities were a little run down but manageable for the 1 night we were there. stay would of been better if they wouldn't of allowed some bonehead laundry delivery guy to deliver and make a tun of noise in the hallways at 4:00 in the morning for about a hour. probably would of gone on longer if I didnt flip out on the front desk guy

Good location, OK hotel ... rude dining room staff

My 10 years old son trying to get a second cup because the first cup he had was filled with drink he is allergic to. The dining room woman yelled at him loudly (auditable to the whole dining area) saying, "you are not allowed to get more cup since this is your eight cup!" I responded, "How can we consume 8 cups with just the 3 of us? This is the forth one only. My son is allergic to the drink filled in his first cup." The story doesn't end there. Another woman came asked us, "just two on this table?" I replied, "no, we are three." Then she shook her head walked away saying "tsk tsk tsk ..." mumbling some Italian words. I asked, "Is there any problem here? This table had 6 people but now 3 left, would you mind tell me what the problem is??". The second woman came saying " ... no English ..." then walked away. The fact is, we are family of 3 which took over the table from another family of 3. She came pick up those used cups and dishes from our table assuming those were ours! Frankly, if you have problem with that (more like a misunderstanding), you could come to us in a polite and private manner so we at least have a chance to clear the misunderstanding. But instead, they made it a big scene and embarrassed us in front of everyone. They ruin my day completely right in the morning. And, we stayed in 3 different hotels in Italy. Their breakfast choice is many times worse than the other two but they are the most expensive hotel among all 3.

The hotel location was great, it is right around the Duomo which makes it very convenient but a bit noisy. Their rooms were clean and in order. It's an ideal hotel given their nightly rate and their prime location! The only complaint that I have is with the wait staff at the restaurant during breakfast. They were rude and reprimanded you when you used an extra cup! Ridiculous!

PEFECT LOCATION 10 steps from DUOMO!!!

WOW, literally 10 steps from the duomo- ideal location. Friendly staff, CLEAN, i have been to Florence 3 times- by far the best hotel i have been in :)
