Lovely property. Guest may benefit from knowing how to dial to call owners when first finding the property. We enjoyed our stay very much.

My fiancé and I stayed here for 6 days with a rental car. It had probably one of the ebst views of funchal. Great accessability to the city and main highway. Place was beautfiul and tidy. Lots of amenities to cook and do laundry.

We loved the place. It was spacious and clean. The kitchen was well-appointed. The hot tub was very nice after days of hiking. It is close to restaurants and small grocery stores. Great spot.

The covered patio was great for the occasional bit of rain we had during our stay. Otherwise it was easily walkable and had plenty of space. Even has an old wine press in the dining area (cool but of local history). Caia was responsive and checked in with us to make sure we found the place before she boarded a flight.

The villa was exceptional, very clean and plenty of amenities. The host was friendly, very accommodating and always quick to respond. He left us with several useful recommendations for the local area which came in handy. Could not recommend the location more. Calheta was by far the best weather on the island, and isn’t too far from many hikes, beaches and the main city. Overall an amazing place to stay, thank you Jorge!

Our stay at this Ocean Cliff Villa property was nothing short of exceptional! The remote location provided breathtaking panoramic views, offering a tranquil escape for our group of 11. The heated pool added a touch of luxury, allowing us to unwind while soaking in the stunning surroundings. Communication with the host was outstanding, ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish. The thoughtful gesture of a welcoming bread basket after our lengthy travel made us feel right at home. The villa's numerous rooms and abundance of windows and sliding doors on every level allowed us to embrace the outdoors effortlessly. With such a serene and beautiful atmosphere, there were days when we couldn't resist staying at the villa, captivated by its charm. This property truly exceeded our expectations, earning it a well-deserved 5-star review.

Rita was the perfect host. She went above and beyond what one would expect from the host. She picked us up from the airport late evening because our car rental shuttle did not show up and arranged for us to get a rental car from another company. We were greeted with a beautiful welcome basket and all the necessary supplies for a full breakfast the next morning. She recommended places for us to see. The grounds around the house are beautiful with fruit trees and we were able to get fresh eggs from the chickens on the property. Staying at Encanto do Sol is to experience the heart and soul of Madeira. The warmth and hospitality of Juan and Catia made our six-week stay unforgettable for all the right reasons. The accommodation was spotless, comfortable, private and quiet and just a short (steep) walk down to the village. Catia and Juan gave us exceptional recommendations for Levada walks, grocery stores, restaurants, cultural information and even where to get a manicure & pedicure. The central location of Ponto do Sol was a perfect spot for exploring the rest of the island. They were available to answer questions and their kindness and generosity have guaranteed a return visit. We cannot wait to come back! We especially appreciate Juan and Catia's passion for growing things. They love their garden and shared their bounty with us; papaya, tomatoes, herbs and eggs from the happiest hens on the planet! Juan took us to BAM, the banana museum and we now have a deeper appreciation of the importance of this crop for Madeira. If you want to experience village life with spectacular sea views, look no further than Encanto do Sol! Must do list in Ponto do Sol: -Visit the Banana Museum-it will forever change your understanding of bananas. Try the banana beer! -Go to the Old Pharmacy and try Madeira's traditional pastry pastel de nata, the tapas are wonderful too! -Walk up the hill to the Nicola and try Francisco's lemon poncha and buy the bolo de mel (honey cake) and bolo doce-delicious! It powered us through many hikes! -Do the Levada do Minho & Levada Nova-a fantastic walk practically on your doorstep
