We stayed here for two weeks in November. Great time to visit the south of France; the crowds are gone, and the weather is still decent.
This rental experience has achieved top ranking in the many places we have stayed over the past decade.
Fantastic location in Boulbon, about ten minutes to Avignon by car. The village itself is awesome, with restaurants, a bakery, a butcher shop and a small grocery store within easy walking distance.
Kitchen is well-equipped; we cooked a lot of French food during our stay. Nice to have a dishwasher. We took advantage of the outdoor produce markets in nearby communities. Fresh seasonal products, plus cheese, olives and tapenade.
Bathrooms have good showers, good water pressure.
Comfortable beds.
Very cosy main floor, we had a wood fire going on chilly mornings.
The house itself is stone; it was beautifully reconstructed from a ruin. Its tucked inside an old fortification. Really cool. Lovely terrace outside with a masonry charcoal grill. There is a spiral concrete staircase that allows access to the top two floors (three story building). Stone stairs access the terrace from outside the house, and another set of stairs accesses it from the second level of the house. The property is not suitable to those with mobility issues.
Paola the caretaker is a warm, friendly lady. The owners are very well organized, especially the house information binder, which addresses everything you need to know about the property.
