Caribbean houseboats

The house has a great atmosphere as a vintage houseboat with the wood finish and decks off every room. The weather was poor during our stay so our ocean activity was limited, but swimming in the tidal creek was always fine. Gabrielle is a great host, responding to our requests quickly, with extensive local knowledge and contacts. She and Peter even found and gave us extra diving gear we had left at home.

We recently stayed at this fabulous home for two weeks at Christmas. The house had everything that we needed and more! The three bedrooms were large and each had air conditioning and very comfortable beds. Just a sidenote that we only ran air conditioning at night in each of the bedrooms, but opening both doors in the house and putting the fan on allowed us to have good airflow in the evening. We paid about 300 for electricity and water for the two weeks we were there. The pool was a wonderful addition with lots of space to lounge, including a Palapa with patio furniture, which was perfect for your morning coffee or when we came back from the beach and wanted some shade. We spent a lot of time on the deck as well. There was a large dining table and we made good use of the barbecue. We cooked many meals at home and the kitchen was well appointed with a gas cooktop, lots of dishes, cutlery, glasses, and a very large fridge/freezer. The entire yard was landscaped with many different plants and provided privacy from the homes around us. The house’s location was perfect for us as we spent a lot of our time exploring the beaches on the west side of the island. The closest beach was five minutes away, and the furthest was only 20 minutes. It took us approximately 15 to 20 minutes to reach the large grocery store called centrum in about 25 minutes to get to Wiilemstad. We would recommend this home and would certainly stay again.
