Ideal property for our week long stay on Arran. Impossible to fault. Would definitely like to stay here again when I return to Arran. I would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and family.
Grogport Cottage lies in a small bay with a few other properties. The view from the front windows looks out to Arran. We loved looking out for the two seals that frequent the bay. A very comfortable base from which to explore the area.
The property has a cosy comfy cottage feel and look internally. The bed was comfy as well. The viewing room above is great for reading etc. The Lookout really is a great place for viewing the sea and surrounding vistas! We enjoyed a very peaceful week away from normal life and noise. No noisy traffic except for the odd motorboat or lifeboat on call! We took our kayaks and were able to leave them near the slipway ready for use.
We explored around the island and across the bay as well as walking over the island. Toni & Ned were great hosts and available if we needed anything, especially a lift across the causway giving us extra time on the mainland before the tide turned! A great getaway in a cosy property! Will return in the near future!
Absolutely gorgeous property.Cannot praise Karen and David the hosts highly enough. The house was stunning and set in the most beautiful grounds with views across to Arran.I know the island like the back of my hand but never knew Stuart Hall was there.I will certainly be back.
We loved our stay at the Wee Silverburn! It was the perfect size for our family of 4. Decorated so nicely, very comfortable and relaxing. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking and baking wares and cleaning supplies. The babbling brook just beyond the lush garden plantings completed the lovely setting. The location is wonderful, an easy walk down the beach and other offerings at Whiting Bay. The bus stop is right there too if you want to pop to a pub or two in Lamlash for dinner and drinks. Even a week didn't feel long enough but as always, we'll be back for more fun and relaxation on Arran (and hopefully stay here again)!
