We spent a wonderful week here, and particularly loved the garden with a shady area where we ate all of our meals. Although not air conditioned the thick walls and shutters kept the house cool. When there was a small problem with the shower Christine immediately arranged a plumber to visit and fix the problem. The village itself is beautiful with an excellent bakery, , grocery store, wine shop and some excellent restaurants. We enjoyed walking by the riverside and taking in the view of the impressive chateau.

We had a lovely holiday in this super cottage. It had everything we needed for a relaxing break. Well equipped and with a lovely garden that our dogs enjoyed with us. It is in a peaceful area but easily accessible to larger villages and towns. We highly recommend it to others and thank the owner for his kindness.

Arrived to be greeted by Marie who showed us around the property, very friendly. Showed how to operate the pull cover and to contact her if any problems. The owner Henri lives in another house to the rear of the barn rental. Lovely man who would clean the pool early in the morning and check with us all ok. Would definitely stay here again, short run into Ruffec for supplies at either of the two supermarkets. Thanks for a great holiday😊

Beautiful property for a very enjoyable month in the Charente. The large, light and spacious house has been restored so that it retains great character and style whilst blending modern conveniences with traditional features. Lovely outside garden space surrounding the house with choice of seating areas for outdoor lounging and dining plus a great pool too. Superb organisation and communication from the owner/host who is clearly committed to ensuring that guests have the most enjoyable stay possible and was just the right level of proactive, responsive and helpful. The quiet location in a small village may not be for everyone but suited our needs, with lots of walks, interesting areas and towns nearby and Angouleme with lots of good restaurants and shops less than 30 mins away. This is a very charming property full of character. We spent two weeks at this property and found it very comfortable. Weather was very warm so plenty of shade outside if needed. The village 3km away has a lovely restaurant and shop. Valerie and Gordon were only a phone call away to help with any questions we had and left a lot on information at the house on places to visit. I would recommend this property if you are looking for peace and quiet with not far to travel for something more lively.
