Holiday rentals near Venetian Castle

The villa itself is beautiful, probably one of the best we have stayed in. It was well equipped with good quality items and everything you could need during your stay. It was cleaned thoroughly twice a week with bathroom towels, beach towels and bedding changed on each occasion making it feel more like a hotel than a self catering Villa. Some basic food & cleaning items were also provided. The location is perfect, extremely quiet with sea views and 3 restaurants within easy walking distance even for my 80 year old parents. Fresh veg and bread (especially loved the sugared doughnuts!) were available daily from sellers who stopped right outside the villa gate. Plenty of other restaurants within 20 minutes drive. The local beach, which is opposite the villa was good for my husband & I but my elderly parents couldn't get in the water due to the stony beach which was such a shame as once you get about 6ft into the water it is beautiful soft sand.Ria was a perfect host, very informative in the lead up to the holiday and when we arrived she was attentive and a friendly face whenever we needed her but was never overbearing. She is understandably very proud of the Villa and Crete and was happy to share useful recommendations of places to visit. We had 2 very minor issues during the holiday and both were resolved extremely quickly and did not affect our stay at all. we had a fantastic holiday and would happily return to the villa if we get the chance. the property is large and has great facilities. perfect for a couple , i really loved this place and can't complain as its great value for money and well worth the drive from the coast. Vrbo mistrakenly placed the property drop pin in the town of Kolymbari but was infact 15 minutes in land from the location they stated, this really inconvenienced us as we had family staying in the town and needed to be nearby , this was Vrbo's fault , not the property owner and will be making a complaint to them . the Property owner was pleasant to deal with and helpful and my only complaint would be that i had to contact someone else to get the key to the property but was not getting messages / calls back on whatsapp so felt a bit stranded at 1am with no key to the place, would have been easier if they had a security box and provide me a code to get the key myself as its not a good system to rely on neighbour/ friends to meet up on arrival . apart from that every thing was very good. i would actually stay again since its such a lovely accommodation and amazing location in the hills.

The most beautiful sunsets and outlook over the sea, simply stunning. Friendly and helpful property management always available. A very clean property and the lovely maid even made us a chocolate cake. Beautiful place to stay fantastic facilities beautiful area beautiful people.

We have just returned from a wonderful two week stay in Villa Liakada, Drapanias, a sleepy resort ideal for relaxing. Eleni and her husband were perfect hosts and provided a welcome pack on arrival which was much appreciated and also gave us gifts when we left. Eleni kindly picked us up and returned us to the pick up points for the coach travel back to the airport.The villa is beautifully presented and is perfectly located with the sea just 30 feet or so away. The pool area is superb and very relaxing. There are 3 tavernas within walking distance and also a small mini market. Kissamos is a charming little town with lovely restaurants on the sea front and is approx 5 kms away and easily reached by taxi for 10 Euros. We would certainly recommend a stay in Villa Liakada.

Amazing sunsets and great pool and view

We really enjoyed our stay here. Swimming pool was great as was the accommodation. Having cleaners twice a week was also great. However, it was the amazing sunsets over the sea that made the stay so memorable.

The property is a 2nd (top) floor apartment, about 500m from the centre of Paleochora. There is sufficient on street parking, at least in early May. We never had difficulty finding a space outside of the building. There are stunning views from the main bedroom and associated balcony. Also from the kitchen/ living room along the sea front to the pier where the ferries dock. Constructive criticism is that there are too few cooking utensils, such as you may use in a frying pan or as a serving ladle. Also a microwave and some extra drinking cups would be very welcome. Overall though a great place to stay and experience South West Crete.
