Great place for family holiday

Lots of room for five of us. Everything we needed in the house. Good position for Clos Lucé and easy walk into town. Easy drive to many other castles, vineyards etcA bit difficult to keep cool, especially the upstairs rooms, when the weather was very hot

Perfect house, host and location!

The perfect stay! As we drove through the gates, we had an amazing view of the castle from the large garden and were so warmly welcomed by the hosts Monique and Pierre-Jean. The house is very spacious with everything you would need as a home away from home. The location is fantastic, walking distance to everything (restaurants, bakery, river, cycling and the castle) in Amboise and at the same time incredibly quiet. We hope to return again to this beautiful property and perfect hosts. Merci!

Amboise - Chateau - Vau de Bonnin

We were 9 men (ages 55-81) on a cycling holiday who cook and do not go out to eat in restaurants- so the kitchen was crucial to a good stay for us. There was a lot of the owner’s personal items on display (ie family photos; ornaments; etc) on mantle pieces shelves etc which meant a degree of clutter and accidental breakage potential. Also the kitchen, in a sense, was over supplied with utensils plates etc - BUT - we soon got used to it all. The cooker range was brilliant. We were surprised we had to make our own beds on arrival and surprised we had to drive bootlegs/jars nearly a mile to the bottle bank. Also we could have done with a washing line. HOWEVER- we had a brilliant stay and seriously would be happy to stay again.
