The house is beautifully & sensitively restored. The garden is lovely, with its terraces of olive trees going down to the pool, which is large, well maintained and has a lovely smooth stone surround. The views from here are just gorgeous - down to the pretty village of Poreta, across to the hills & for miles across the valley, with Spoleto in the distance. For us, the house was perfectly placed for trips out to nearby hill villages, towns & numerous great restaurants, many within 10 minutes drive. Julian, the owner, gives good recommendations! One of the great things, is the complete privacy of the place. No one overlooking you on any of the terraces - the top loggia (great for relaxing before & after dinner), dining area or pool. Blissful!Just to note, we would probably hire a smaller car as parking outside the property can be a little awkward, as can getting around the small roads in the villages. Also, if you have limited mobility the steps down to the pool would be challenging. An all round great place to stay.

Beautiful views of the Rocca and Monteluco from large terrace and glass kitchen doors. Kitchen fully equipped, and very nice and spacious sitting room. 3 bathrooms! Local host Marina is super friendly and helpful. Close to Piazza Mercato. One of the best apts. we have rented in Italy.

We arrived in Macerino after our drive from Rome to be greeted by our hosts Maria and Franco in the square of the village. They warmly welcomed us and showed us to the property which was around the corner from the square. We immediately recognised it from the photos. They escorted us inside to reveal a welcoming bottle of Montefalco wine and a delicious looking blueberry tart. The property was everything we could ask for. Immaculately clean, very well furnished and very spacious. Everything we could need was provided, especially in the kitchen which pleased my wife who enjoys cooking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a splendid property in an ideal, peaceful country location. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time staying with Beatrice, she was very helpful and even though the pool is shared it was very quiet and peaceful (except when our children were there!!). We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa and it was so private with a large garden area with beautiful views! Nice and close to Spoleto which is beautiful and we also did a day trip to Assisi. Our 5 year old and 3 year old loved all the cats and 2 little ponies! Thank you for a lovely stay. The Chivers Family xxx

There is nothing that we can find to say negative about this wonderful place. It was amazing from start to finish, the beautiful village unspoiled Italy at its best located in the quietest and most wonderful countryside. Surrounded by forests and peace and tranquillity. The views are breathtaking. The place itself is spotlessly clean everything is thought of and Well equipped. From the sun loungers on the roof Terrace where we had breakfast lunch and an early aperitif. Unfortunately the weather was a bit chilly in the evening so we retired to the comfort of the sitting room and lit the fanatic open fire which was so well vented and my husband cooked chestnuts in the ashes which was amazing. The owners Maria and Franco are so helpful and polite and take pride in the place which shows throughout the property. If you are looking for a place that gives you peace and quiet away from it all but with amenities in the house of every sortThis is the place for you. Like the people before we found thee Drive to the house a little interesting don’t take any other road then the road which the owners advise you and keep going even if you think you are on the wrong road. It’s well worth it The place is located a fantastically for visiting the local area and further afield. If you love Italy and Italian hilltop villages.This is the place for you. You can’t get peace and tranquillity like this without a little bit of driving I guess. The place is located fantastically for visiting the local area and further afield. We can wholeheartedly recommend you stay here if you do love peace and tranquillity and want to experience the real Italy.

Great base for exploring Spoleto, very comfortable with lovely views. Felt a welcoming base straight away.
