Holiday rentals near Maya Chan Beach

Booking and communication we're easy and straightforward - Kathleen was a prompt, friendly and helpful host. The property itself is out of a dream! Right on the beach, with incredible views and peace and tranquility. A few people walked by every so often, but unless we went somewhere, we didn't see anyone! The onsite caretaker, Daribel, is polite, helpful and friendly. The apartment is well equipped, we had one issue which was dealt with quickly, and the information given beforehand put us at ease. Kathleen made a recommendation for Mahahual Ecotours, owned by Victor Rosales - we spent the day with him, and if you can, do it!! He was amazing! From the property, we spent the day at Bacalar Lagoon, Mahahual town, and Hayhu beach club - all brilliant days with lots of incredible experiences. We didn't get the best weather at the start of our 6night stay, so unfortunately couldn't get out to snorkel or use the additional equipment on offer, but if you had calmer days, it would be awesome! We were really happy with our stay - a dreamy location for a very reasonable price 👍

It’s a great house right on the beach. Joe and his caretakers Sandra and Emanuel were very welcoming and available. You have to be aware that Joe lives in half of the house and as it is not totally separate does use the “communal” areas. The bedrooms and bathrooms are lovely, nicely done and clean. Some work needed in the kitchen. The sink and tap could do with replacing as could the cooker. The fridge works perfectly but doesn’t look very good. There weren’t 4 wine glasses and not really any serving dishes This is all simple stuff and probably sounds petty. We did enjoy our stay but sometimes it’s the little things that make a stay perfect.
