Everything just as shown/described on the advertisement and by other reviewers. April has ensured there is everything you could possibly need from beach towels and snorkel gear to the essential foods for when you arrive. She has her own property on the grounds but the house is totally private and secure. The pool is perfect for cooling off after a day’s trekking or being in the beach. The house allows for views of the sea from every room. Sunsets every night! I will miss that. We really enjoyed our evening swims gazing up at the stars after being out all day. House and location are perfect and April is the perfect host. The beach is a 10 minute walk away or 5 minute drive. You will need a 4 wheel drive not only for the Emerald Abode but for Santa Teresa. Highly recommend you choose to stay here if coming to the area. We plan to come back and stay longer next time and I wouldn’t choose anywhere other than Emerald Abode to stay. out all day.

Villa is absolutely fantastic! The view from terace is breathtaking. Nature is also fantastic there-seems to live in the jungle. All here is fanstatic.we are sure we will return here-Costarica and we also sure we will return to this villa. Seperate thanks to Ana Montesino-best house manager i ever seen-so helpfull!!!!

I put together a small yoga retreat for my students who were desperate to get away somewhere hot after a long wait to travel due to the global pandemic. Our first impression on walking in was "wow!" Everyone gave me massive hugs and was beyond excited at this stunning property. Our fabulous private chef Ricardo and his lovely wife Alba were waiting for us, greeted us with a welcome cocktail and a beautiful 3 course meal after our long travel from the Osa Peninsula. The property is spotlessly clean, way bigger than the pictures suggest and the views are spectacular. Every member of staff we dealt with went over and above in their service including everyone on trips, taxis, massages etc. We did our yoga classes on the decking area where the couches are, stunning scenery and gorgeous sunsets, sounds of the waves and howler monkeys. Every bit of food that was prepared was amazing, in fact its the best we've all tasted ever! Don't go out for meals if you can help it, Ricardo is way better than anything you will get elsewhere. The food not only smells and looks divine, it tastes fantastic too and his vegan meals were outstanding, he tried his first ever vegan lasagne with us and it was just wow! All rooms are spacious and the decor is beautiful with so many pieces that are a joy for the eyes. The pool is gorgeous and the waterfall so calming, we were happy to spend most of our time at the property. I can't say one negative about the property or the services received here. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting luxury and something special, everything is high end here! I didn't want to leave, but really hope to be able to return one day.

We spent four nights here at the end of our honeymoon in Costa Rica and were blown away with this property. The location is simply breathtaking. The photos online, amazing though they are, just don't prepare you for the reality of that incredible view. The property itself is lovely, perfect for two people, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. We were here just as the Corona virus outbreak began in Costa Rica so didn't really venture out very much, as such we were eating three meals a day at the house and the kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything you need - better than my own kitchen at home! The real plus point of this place though is the outside space. Incredibly private, beautiful infinity pool, very comfortable furniture and an outside shower which probably has the best view of any shower in the world - we didn't use the shower in the bathroom once! Great wildlife watching right from the terrace - we saw scarlet macaws every day, hummingbirds, parrots, hawks and vultures which came incredibly close to the house, squirrels, lizards and of course the resident iguana who used to come down from the roof and sun himself by the pool. I can't recommend this property enough and would go back in a heartbeat. Easily the best place we have ever stayed in, my only regret is that we were only there for four days!
