Holiday rentals near Outeniqua Transport Museum

The Gull Cottage where we stayed was absolutely excellent! Ruth who owns and runs the cottage was super, welcoming us to the cottage and explaining the facilities. The cottage is very well equipped, super clean, very comfortable, and in a great location just moments from the beach. We hope to return as soon as possible!

A very clean modern property. Great access to the beach. Very helpful but not intrusive host etc. Everything one needs is here. Never gets too hot as there’s a lovely cooling sea breeze. Thoroughly recommend

Very friendly and communicative host and onsite team. The property is set in a beautiful garden where children and dogs can play safely. A braai is provided and cleaned after using it! The host and team surprised us with little extras which made us feel welcome! The garden was quiet and peaceful and our studio was comfortable.

This is a super house to rent for a summer holiday with a big group - spacious, open plan, pretty garden, two patios, the kids had a ball in the solar-heated pool. The house has quirky decoration and lots of interesting touches, there was plenty of bed linen and towels to use and a well equipped kitchen, including a Breville coffee machine. The location is great, 5 mins drive to Swartvlei beach, a similar distance to the lagoon, 10 mins to Myoli Beach, 2kms to the village (supermarket, cafes, restaurants). Tamara was a thoughtful, responsive hostess who dealt promptly with the various issues that arose while we stayed (broken freezer and kettle, blown fusebox). Her domestic worker was also a pleasure to have around and kept the property clean and tidy. There were a few drawbacks to the house: - there wasn't enough hot water for all 8 of us to have a shower at the same time of the day so if we all got back from the beach in the evening, we couldn't all have a hot shower to clean off - there was no tumble drier which, at the seaside with lots of wet towels and humid air, is a real drawback - insufficient crockery for the number of people in the house so we had to keep handwashing plates - the dishwasher was not very effective, the cutlery basket was broken and the large dinner plates didn't fit in so needed to be handwashed

This was one of the best properties we have stayed at. The attention to detail was phenomenal. There was not one thing we wished could have been better. The view, the gardens, the comfort, the games, the beds - everything was set up with our comfort in mind. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

Superb property in an amazing location! Views to die for! Everything you could possibly need. Oliver was fabulous & provided us with a list of things to do & we only just touched on them so need another visit! Amelia was lovely and was there for us when needed.
