Holiday rentals near Waterfront

This is a stunning place to stay in Monterey, which provides comfort and luxury. Located a few minutes drive (or 30 min walk) from central Monterey, it’s the ideal base to explore the area. The property itself is beautiful, with thoughtful touches of decor. We really looked forward to returning ’home’ after busy days. Everything is catered for, furnishings are lovely. We were wowed upon check in , even though the pictures match the property, in fact they probably don’t do it justice. We spent 3 weeks travelling through California, at six different properties and this was our favourite by far!

The house is huge. Loads of space including a large living room with a piano and fire, a games room with large pool table, ping pong in the basement, and a very large garden (especially for Carmel). Also the pool has been recently redone and was welcome during our stay as the sun shone the whole week. The decor is “old fashioned” but quaint and fitting the Carmel old style and history of the house, We had one minor issue with the pool heating not being on and it took a couple of days until we could use it but the owner gave us some guest cards for Monterey Aquarium to make up for it and the issue was resolved as soon as they could The location of the house however is the standout for us. Right next to the quieter Carmel River Beach and you can see the ocean from the garden and hear the waves at night. We would definitely stay again !

Fabulous property overlooking the Pacific. Very peaceful location in the Carmel Highlands, yet only 5 mins drive to restaurants and supermarkets House is very spacious, with lovely open living space. Bedroom upstairs is huge. The property had everything in it eg kitchen equipment/utensils, that we needed for our stay. Outside space is beautiful with plenty of outdoor furniture. The verandah gets the sun all afternoon into the evening. We enjoyed our stay hugely and would live to return in the future.

We loved staying here!! We love Carmel, and consider this our second home, but this is the first time we have stayed in a house.. and what a house!!! Having stayed in several VRBO properties, this is by far the best we have stayed in. The house is So well equipped. Little things, like having dishwasher liquid, washing powders shampoo and conditioners, salt and peppers - all so useful and the little things you may have either forgotten or you don’t really want to buy for just 7-10 days. Comfortable beds, the washer and dryer were very efficient. Hot water. Plenty of towels, plates, glasses. All the small things that make a holiday better and easier and like having a home from home. The house is perfectly situated in downtown Carmel, you can walk to town and the beach if you want.. a easy walk in.. A uphill walk back ; ). A gorgeous sunny garden to sit in and my favourite part… hummingbirds that visit!! I cannot say enough wonderful things about the house, truly a gem of a find and we hope we will return on our next trip “home”. Thanks Bob.

The beautiful cottage is a little piece of heaven on earth, set in it's own garden adorned with lovely shrubs, plants and trees with an abundance of wildlife, including an array of birds attracted by the feeders Barb and Terry put out. The cottage is very cleverly and comfortably laid out, with all amenities you will need. The welcome bottle of wine and other goodies Barb and Terry provided were very much appreciated. Barb was on hand if we ever needed her and although extremely obliging, she gave us space and was not intrusive in any way. She explained to us that a few previous guests had left a couple of negative comments about the bed so she had arranged for a new mattress to be delivered during our stay. Personally we found the original mattress perfectly comfortable, but I think this a good example of Barb's attention to detail and willingness to please. The courtesy Aquarium passes kindly provided by Barb was a real bonus. Barb and Terry, we had blast and, thank you both very much. I'm sorry I chipped one of your plates!!! If you ever find yourself in Devon, let us know as you would be welcome at our home anytime. Bon voyage for now as we will be back sometime.

This place is really amazing! the house is nice, clean and well equipped! You can immediately feel that the owners really love their house. You can find in there whatever you need or you have forgotten to take with you. Even if the best is outside the house: the beach, the birds, the seals, the sunset, the hummingbirds and even the opossum we spotted in the parking space! The condo is quite secluded but it was good for us! Perfect place if you are looking for a lot nature and relax.
