We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Dubrovnik at this lovely home. Very comfortable and clean. Appreciated nikolina‘s prompt assistance. The only advice we would give is to have customers get dropped off by the wine museum as opposed to the Jesuit stairs. There’s significantly less stairs from that area. Otherwise we highly recommend this home. Thank you, Nikolina!
The villa is well positioned outside the Old Town, with a beautiful view of the sea and Fort Lovrijenac from your sunbed. Lots of great restaurants to eat and places to see, particularly if you are a Game of Throne fan!
Boris and Doris looked after us and came to clean the pool
every day.
Serenity, peace and oasis of calm - this property looks over the hills and is completely secluded from the next property so it really does feel like you have got away from it all, whilst only being half an hour from Dubrovnik old town.
The house itself was smaller than I was expecting, but it had everything you could possibly need, mod cons and really clean.
The outside area is the winning factor with a lovely pool overlooking the hills, sunbathing area and 2 lovely covered areas for sitting or dining. An added bonus was the 'out house' with BBQ, although a bit odd that it was indoors!
The gardens are well tendered and manucured. This property is just peace personified.
We took the advise of another guest and stopped at Lidl on the way in to stock up on supplies because there really is only small supermarkets dotted about and nothing close by. Around a 10 min drive there is a lovely little bar, but you certainly couldn't walk it unless you are an olympic hiker!
Management were excellent, really engaging and helpful.
Love to come and stay again.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Mariante. We found it to be spacious, clean and light, generally well equipped and with high quality furnishings etc. We felt very comfortable there for our 10 day stay.
Villa Mariante is in a good location for exploring the surrounding area. We had a hire car and found numerous nice beaches and towns along the coast to visit, plus it is possible to drive across the borders to Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina (which we did, and found it straightforward). There are also various bus routes from Komolac, so a car is not essential, although we were glad to have ours to explore the wider area.
Komolac itself is a nice area - very picturesque, nice marina, restaurants and grocery stores within a few mins walk from the house. Marijo is an excellent host - very friendly, informative and helpful. We would happily return!
The property was excellent for our family of 9 over 3 generations. Everything you could want in a property. If I was being picky there aren’t enough restaurants within short walking distance although there is a bus stop a short walk away that enables you to get to the old town of Dubrovnik within 30 minutes (€2 each). There are a number of bakers and supermarkets within walking distance and one restaurant within 10 minutes walk, the next nearest restaurants that we found were at the marina which is 4 kilometres away (walkable if you’re fit enough)
We had a wonderful two week holiday staying in Rina's villa. Villa is really well equiped and more spacious that we thought. Location was excellent just a short(ish) walk into the old town - we often walked down and got an Uber back. Rina was the most amazing and thoughtful host arranging trips for us, giving restaurant advice - it felt like having a concierge service. I'd recommend Villa Skance to anyone wanting a short or long trip to Dubrovnik. Passing on Rina's great advice, our favourite restaurants were Arsenal and Proto and the day long boat trip around the three islands was amazing
We had a wonderful week staying at the villa, we were celebrating my retirement. It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The location of the villa was great within easy reach to restaurants beach and supermarket. I would definitely recommend it to my friends.
We had the most amazing time in this incredible villa, Everything was perfect from start to finish. A 15 minute stroll to the ancient walls with breathtaking views. We bought a 3 day pass for entrance to walls and busses costing €45. Well worth it if you struggle with walking as it’s up hill coming home. Amazing restaurants recommended by the owner of the villa. We also hired a boat through Dubrovnik Boats for the day and explored the Elaphiti Islands and had lunch on Sipan Island, fabulous restaurant recommendation by skipper and it was incredible! Not to expensive at all. We could have easily spent another 4 days exploring there is so much to do! We had a full day before our flight home and used a company called Baggage and Smile Porter service to come and collect our luggage, they brought it down all the steps and took it away for €30, each case was €15 a day. We had a wonderful day relaxing on the beach. For another €45 they took the four of us to the airport! Absolutely amazing service! Highly recommend this incredible villa! Thank you from 8 very happy ladies x
