Cottage Near Zion Hiking, Biking and other Fun! Great Central Location.
This tiny home is a clean, fun little cottage that makes the perfect home base for your hiking or biking trip to southern Utah. It has one bedroom and one bathroom. The space is small but cozy. (People taller than 6'3" will be at risk of hitting their head on one of the archways.) This home started out, generations ago, as a cabin for the Park Rangers of Zion National Park. In the 90's it was physically moved to Hurricane, Ut where it served as a vacation home for an elderly couple for many years. In early 2017 it officially opened as a vacation rental where, for the first time in decades, you can stay in one of these historic Ranger Cabins. The outside is still original but the inside has been totally remodeled.

This house was exactly as expected and perfect for us. My husband and I stayed here while visiting Zion NP for a few days. The house was clean and had plenty of space. We cooked all of our breakfasts and dinners. The kitchen was well stocked with basics. The outside area was nice to sit and eat and just hang out. Jeb notified us that we could check in early, which was great. There was a book of recommendations for activities, places to eat, etc. We went to River Rock (which they recommended) for coffee each afternoon after finishing in the park which was a nice little treat. The grocery stores were never really busy and are close by. Just around the block there’s a park that has trails you can hike down and there’s a reserve for tortoises. The people of Hurricane, Utah were nice and respectful. The house is an old Zion Ranger Cabin which was relocated and had a bit added which is also super cool. The washer and dryer were quick and pretty quiet. The one “negative” and it’s literally not a negative at all. I just call it that because everyone always wants to know what’s not expected about a place- I found out steam from the shower can set off a smoke detector. Hahaha. Maybe I should have known but it sure shocked me. BUT there’s a window at the top of the shower and as long as it’s open, you can have a steamy shower with no smoke detector. Definitely will stay here again if we’re fortunate enough to revisit the area. I can’t recommend this house enough.Everything about it.
This cottage looks bigger on the inside but fit us perfectly. I wouldn’t recommend for groups of more than 2 but is such a cozy experience and in such a great location. We were less than 30 minutes from all our planned activities. Overall, really great communication from the owner and super easy instructions to follow. We loved our stay.
Wonderful little cottage with everything you need for a great stay. Near to the nature, plenty of info and help avaliable from the hosts, and plenty of amenities. Make sure you use the fireplace in the winter! It's a fun a great cabin and we would recommend it to anyone
This property was wonderful. Clean, comfortable and located within a short drive to Zion. The host was responsive and informative. We would absolutely stay here again.
Very clean, comfortable and remarkably private property in the middle of town. Easy to locate and convenient to stores and restaurants. Nearly all necessities were provided, including a soft-sided cooler for guests’ use. Comprehensive information guide for the property and nearby attractions was very helpful.
For an old building, the remodel was quite good, even though some spaces (kitchen and bathroom), by necessity, were quite small. Spacious living room. About all it needs is a new entry door and better lighting to make entry after dark easier.
We were completely satisfied with the accommodation and it was a great value for the price.
Perfect place for what a couple newlywed hikers needed! Great condition, excellent communication and service provided by the host. WILL STAY AGAIN if it is available next time we go! Loved it!!!
Because of flight delays, we arrived just before midnight. Fortunately for us, we had no problems getting to this location and settling in for the night. Host communicated before arrival how to access property. It was everything we expected and then some. The price point is excellent and you are in a great location for all services, restaurants, coffee, fuel, groceries, etc. Easy drive to Zion and some wonderful state parks. Tight quarters in the bathroom but that’s not where you hang out for long anyway. Living space is large and comfortable. Can’t think of anything you might need to make your stay relaxing, that wasn’t there. Especially like being able to do laundry and not travel with a bunch of dirty clothes. A couple of nice surprises like travel coffee mugs, soft side cooler and ice pack for your day trips. Would recommend to anyone. Did I mention it is clean.
We stayed in Hurricane for a week and could not have enjoyed it more. The location is private, and the cottage and amenities are wonderful. We had zero complaints and highly recommend
This Cottage Near Zion was the perfect place for us to base out of to explore Zion and Bryce. It was so quiet, a relief after a day around the crowds of people in the park! The information in the Cottage information manual were very concise and helpful. The accomodations were perfect, comfortable, clean, and a great home away from home!
Great quiet spot with easy access to many great areas. Really enjoyed coming "home" to this quiet location - love the history of this little home. Addition of wine glasses would be a great addition to the many amenities provided.
Jed was very responsive and helpful. Has everything a normal house would need...from cooking and doing laundry. Would do again when we come to see Zion and the other national parks.
The cottage was very neat, clean , warm & inviting. It appeared just as the pictures in the advertisement. We would definitely stay again if visiting the area.
I can't say enough how much we enjoyed our 3 night stay at this fully stocked cottage/house/cabin. There was a cooler bag for use, which we loved for taking lunches into the park. Loved the binder of trails/restaurants etc suggestions. Our stay here was the highlight of our vacation this year, honestly.
Thank you again!
Very cute space to stay in, more than enough space for my partner and I. It was only about 35 minutes to Zion, had some great local food choices, and had everything we needed. Only complaint is that it has a faint cigarette smell when we first came. Could have been from a past guest, but I am pretty sensitive to smells so I noticed it a bit more than my partner. Overall great stay!
Comfy queen size bed, well stocked kitchen to cook basic meals, living room was super comfortable. Netflix already on the TV which is cool because you get different show recommendations. Within 30 minutes to Zion. 2 hours to Bryce. Around the corner to tons of state parks. Located at the end of a very quiet street in a quiet neighborhood. Gated property. Secure parking.
Stop in before heading to the store to pick up groceries. Guest have left lots of condiments and shampoos that you can use. We ended up adding to the collection.
Definitely recommend
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this cottage in Hurricane UT. We spent a couple days exploring Zion and it was great to have this very comfortable place to come back to and relax.
I didn't interact with the owners, there was no need to. This cabin is beautiful and everything you need is there. It's perfect for a get away when you want to escape the city.
This house was very clean and intimate. My wife and kids loved it as well as I. It was very well stocked. Even had a grill, washing machine, Wi-Fi, DVD player and Air Conditioning. I would definitely recommend
This was our third time we have stayed here and it perfect for two people.

My name is Jed Stout. I grew up in southern Utah and just love this place! I live just a few miles from this home. I love to hike and mountain bike. I'm happy to answer questions about local trails and activities so please call me during your stay if you'd like ideas.
Why they chose this property
My wife and I fell in love with this little home in the year 2003 when we were shopping for our own first home. We weren't able to get it at that time but when it became available in 2005 we didn't hesitate to purchase it. We rented it out for 12 years but with this new remodel finished, we wanted to offer it to vacation renters visiting the area. This home has the perfect blend of old historic features with new remodeled cleanliness.
What makes this property unique
The very old history of this cottage makes it a lot of fun. It's a great little honeymoon getaway or an easy place to relax for hikers and bikers visiting the area for the first time.
