A paradise at the foot of the Taenchel for 9/10 people in Thannenkirch

It’s a very beautiful house in a green setting—an old farmhouse with exposed wooden beams full of character. The former main living area of the house features 2 bedrooms with double beds, a bedroom that sleeps 3 people, and a comfortable sleeper sofa in the living room. The kitchen is spacious; you can easily dine there with 4–5 people. It is fully equipped with a refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, oven, microwave, dishes, silverware, and cookware, as well as basic staples like oil, spices, flour, and paper towels... A washing machine and dryer are located in the basement.
The dining room is the central living area of the house, featuring a large table that seats 10 people.
The living room, with its fireplace, LCD TV, and stereo system, combines modernity and charm. Free Wi-Fi access.
The bathroom has a shower and toilet. There are also 2 separate bathrooms, including 1 on the upper floor.
The garden spans nearly 1.5 hectares, and the house is located approximately 600 metres above sea level. There you’ll find a magnificent linden tree that provides gentle shade over the terrace, as well as a large cedar tree that was brought directly from Lebanon to be planted here.
While you’re barbecuing or relaxing on the lounge chairs, enjoy the magnificent panorama and the view of the Black Forest.

You’ll feel the positive and magnetic energy so famous in this green retreat, this haven of peace at the foot of the Taennchel Massif. The most adventurous can hike to the Paiens Wall, a true 11-km archaeological mystery, and discover the Rocher des Géants or the Reptiles.

Access to the house is via a steep shared road that is initially unpaved, then concrete, and finally asphalt (not suitable for vehicles with low ground clearance or sports cars). During heavy snowfall, the road is passable only in an SUV.
The house is located at 600 metres above sea level; access in winter and during heavy snowfall can sometimes be difficult. It takes 10 minutes on foot, and it’s no problem in a 4x4.

After all that effort… a little comfort.
For those seeking more entertainment, the location between the two departments of Alsace is ideal for visiting the Wine Route, as well as major cities like Strasbourg or the Biscope (the eco-museum), renowned wineries, prestigious restaurants, theme parks such as Europa-Park, and numerous nearby festivals (Thannenkirch Cherry Festival, Ménétriers Festival in Ribeauvillé, A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the Val de Villé... )

But Thannenkirch is also a delight for the senses when it comes to dining at the Auberge de la Meunière or the Melkerhof, and when a spa near the springs is simply wonderful and inviting.
