Our visit to this beautiful place was amazing and we had a wonderful time together visiting our family and bringing mum home. Thank you for this amazing property that made or stay a home from home experience
We had a lovely, cosy stay the property. Very clean and well equipped. The ping pong table was a great feature. We enjoyed waking up to see sheep and cows in the neighbouring fields and a even spotted a bird of prey in the early evening. Over all a relaxing and enjoyable short break.
Fantastic stay in a lovely house. We loved the hot tub and the views. I’m originally from the area so it was wonderful to find such a gem. Really clean and comfy beds. House well insulated and warm. The boys loved the table tennis and books and games. Stephanie and Ivan have done a sterling job with the two house rentals. We will definitely be back.
We had the most wonderful experience staying at Lichen Cottage - from the Game of Thrones studio tour, dinner in Newcastle, the Titanic experience and lunch in Belfast, to hiking at the Giants Causeway - all in a weekend! A pleasant drive back to Dublin and enough time for the Guinness tour before hopping back on the ferry.
The cottages itself has everything that you would need to cook meals, we played games and read books we would not have done at home! The views are outstanding, and the hot tub is a very nice extra.
The house is clean and well stocked. It is located in the most beautiful country setting. I could feel my stress melting away as I sipped coffee and watched the cows and goats in the adjacent fields. The ping pong table was a great bonus. And the local supermarket was just a 10 minute drive away. Wonderful place. Would definitely recommend!
Fantastic house and a very comfortable stay. We enjoyed table tennis and of course the Hot Tub! Very good communication with the owners and would definitely recommend to come and stay here.
We had such a lovely stay in this property, ideally located for reaching plenty of attractions and other days out A really modern, clean and tidy property with the owners swift to answer any questions...loved the hot tub, table tennis table and selection of family games and books etc Would stay again definitely.
Second we have visited this property so the last review stands. Even brought more people this time to show them how good it is. They loved it and so did we. Beautiful views and lovely quiet location. Plus the owners are awesome!
Perfect 3 bedroom cottage, everything has been very well thought through and is high quality. Owners were friendly throughout, views are beautiful and perfectly situated to see beaches, Belfast or whatever takes your fancy! Hot tub was awesome and even neighbours (mostly sheep) were quiet (except the local church service on Sunday evening on loud speaker). We would definitely recommend and looking forwards to coming back in the future!
Lovely house with great facilities, but location isn't great. Grand if you have access to a car and are happy to travel a bit to get to nearest towns, but if you don't have a car, this property isn't the one for you.
This is a fabulous modern three bedroom two bathroom home with all the amenities you could want. The views were fantastic and we particularly liked the fact that you could relax in the hot tub and take in the views of the Mourne Mountains. A big positive with this property with two adult daughters were that the second and third bedrooms were identical size. We don’t normally self cater but the fact that this property had freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and a built in barbecue made everything easy. It is at the edge of a small quiet village which does mean a short drive to the shops in Rathfriland or Castlewellan. This property has definitely changed our mind on self catering and we’ll be back. The owners always responded quickly and helpfully. Highly recommended.
Fantastic stay; a home away from home. The house was exceptionally clean and had everything we could need but the the best part was the stunning views of the Mourne Mountains (approximately 40 minutes away). We spent every evening sitting in the hot tub looking at the mountains. Having the table tennis table was a nice touch. Any questions we had were quickly answered. It was a great location - only 45 minutes from Belfast. We would definitely return.
We had the most amazing stay in this beautiful home. Everything was top of the range and we as a family had an amazing holiday. Thankyou. We will def be back!
