About this property

Home Away From Home

We purchased this house for us and our family to enjoy Pine Creek and it's beauty. We want you to enjoy it also as a Vacation Rental. Our house is very comfortable for up to 6 guests and comes fully furnished. You can prepare your favorite meals in our fully equipped kitchen that includes a refrigerator, range, microwave, coffee pot, utensils, dishes, pots and pans to cook on and more. We also provide a laundry room equipped with a washer & dryer so you do not have to worry about running out of clothes. Three good sized rooms with black out curtains for a great night sleep. Off the main Bedroom & Den is door leading to a covered porch with a table & 4 chairs and gas grill. Also in the backyard we have a picnic table that can seat 6 people. Also for your after dark enjoyment a fire pit to sit by and gaze up at the beautiful night skies above. WI-Fi and streaming live tv is available for you to use. Also there is access to Pine Creek within walking distance of the cottage a state road that leads down to the Creek with a spot to put in your Canoe or Kayak and float down Pine Creek.

Lovely cabin directly on route 6. We had a wonderful time, even in the rain on their beautiful covered back porch! Camp fire pit is excellent!The traffic was quite loud at times. Sadly no direct path to the creek; however, the adorable little deck at the back of the yard presents gorgeous views.The renters respond quickly and with kindness!

The house had everything we needed for our three night stay. The weather went down into the 60s overnite so we really didn’t need to use the window AC units but if it got warm during the day they worked great. We especially enjoyed making a fire in the fire pit for smores one night. Very quiet area and a good location for access to the parks and the rail trail and Wellsboro. Some others mentioned road noise as the house is right next to route 6 but we didn’t find it to be a problem, especially if you run a fan. The host is very responsive if you have any questions. We had a great trip!

This place was perfect for a family of 5 adults and our pup. We loved the back yard view and fire pit. We enjoyed being able to spend our mornings on the deck overlooking the creek. We were concerned about the window unit ac units not being enough, but we were pleasantly surprised (as long as you don't close the bedroom door like my girls did). Everything we needed was there and made life easier. My only suggestion would be to take wheels off the master bed. I leaned against the bed to put my socks on and whoops...Definitely would recommend and would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay. The property was exactly as described in the listing. The fire pit and corn hole was a plus. The extra touches like the coffee bar was awesome. Would recommend!

I always try to give reviews that hit main points for me. So, with that in mind…1. Host was extremely easy to contact and responded quickly.2. Beds were super comfy. Some of the best we’ve ever had.3. Shower had hot water and good pressure. 4. Backyard was fabulous. Host provides the wood for the fire which is rare. 5. Fishing near the cabin was great.6. Pet friendly w a nice dog run in the backyard.The only drawback was the road noise at night but we took a noise machine and it worked well.Overall a great find.

Nice cottage

We spent 4 nights at creek bend cottage. It was clean and roomy with all the essentials plus extras like dog bowls, dog run liine. It was an easy drive to access points to the Pine Creek Rail Trail, Wellsboro and state parks.

Our 4th of July stay in Gaines

The house is in a perfect location to many area attractions. The back yard offers a spectacular view of pine creek and the mountains in the back. We didn't get to use the fire pit but it offers a lovely area for R&R after a day of kayaking, hiking, or any touristy thing you do.I appreciated the keyless entry! We had all the normal amenities in the house. It was indeed comfortable.The drawback I found was that the water seemed to have a Sulphur odor. The notes said it was safe to drink but we chose not to.

Nice, central spot near the Grand Canyon of PA

My family had 4 adults and 2 children staying here. It was clean, comfortable, and felt very roomy. Their kitchen had all utensils/items you could possibly need. We appreciated the detailed information book with instructions for our stay as well as recommendations for things to do and nearby shops/restaurants. It was a good central location to a lot of the activities we had planned. You definitely can hear the road noise from the bedrooms at night. However, that was expected and wasn't too bothersome. Overall, a really nice place and fit our needs perfectly.

Anniversary weekend

The house was cozy, good location, plenty of room, very nice back yard, we really enjoy our stay. The only negative thing i can say is it is close to the road and you can hear it. But the speed limit though there is 35 so it wasn't bad.

Great little house with an amazing back yard. The owners were great and the house had everything that we needed. Great location in the middle of just about everything. We would stay here again...hopefully with clear skies this time.

Excellent experience and environment

This cottage was as described and MORE. It had everything needed. Bring food and clothes and you are set for a wonderful stay. Owner communicated during a storm to check on us. I highly recommend this cottage. Better than 5 stars for sure.

Lori and I bought this cottage in August of 2020. I have always wanted to have a place on Pine Creek. I learned how to trout fish on Pine Creek as a kid. I also kayaked down through the canyon every spring for 20 years. I did that until I decided that I didn't like sleeping on the ground anymore. After I met Lori we started coming to this area together. She also fell in love with how peaceful it is.

Why they chose this property

I had been looking for a home in this area for sometime. This home was just what I was looking for, from the size of the house and property. This cottage is also far enough away from our residential home in New York and it feels like we are getting away. It takes us about an hour to get to the cottage. The access to Pine Creek just a walk away was a selling point along with how cozy it is.

What makes this property unique

We loved the back yard with the views of Pine Creek just down over the bank. The access state road to drive down to unload your raft, kayak & canoes within 1 tenth of a mile is great. The state game lands that are great for hunting all around made this a great spot for a vacation rental.
