Bellwether is a detached shepherd’s hut situated on the outskirts of the market town of Helmsley. This open-plan, studio-style property houses a double bed, a dining area and a well-equipped kitchen, sleeping up to two people. The interior is completed by a shower room with a walk-in shower, basin and WC. Outside, there is off-road parking for two cars and a garden with a lawn and table and chairs. Bellwether is a superb retreat for couple looking to explore this part of Yorkshire. Please note this property accepts bookings with a minimum of 2 nights.

Amenities: Electric underfloor heating and a woodburning stove. Microwave, electric hob, fridge and WiFi. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Fuel, power and starter pack inc. in rent. Off-road parking for 1 car. Garden with lawn area and gravel area with table and chairs. Gas BBQ.Also a separate covered seating area. Sorry, no pets and no smoking .Pub within 0.5 mile, farm shop 0.5 miles, shop within 2.3 miles. Note: The owner offers aromatherapy massages, which are done at the property. Massages are at an additional cost (the owner offers a 10% discount) and they need to be booked in advance. Please note this property accepts bookings with a minimum of 2 nights. Region: The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

Town: Helmsley is a market town situated at the southern edge of the North York Moors National Park and houses a number of houses, hotels and shops. Within the town you will also find a 12th-century castle and English Heritage’s Rievaulx Abbey and Castle Howard are close by. Within the surrounding area you will find superb walks with Cleveland Way starting in Helmsley.

A beautiful place to stay!

Brilliantly designed, comfortable with everything you need provided. Fiona has used the highest quality fittings and furnishings for a luxurious stay. The views are even better than the pictures show. Peaceful and relaxing. Walks to the moors and the Vale of Pickering from the door. Absolutely wonderful!

Heaven near Helmsley

Our stay at the shepherds hut was everything we anticipated and more. My wife and I couldn't have been happier with the accommodations and with our interactions with Fiona. The property is so peaceful and pastoral and our communication with Fiona was delightful. If you are feeling weary or stressed by life, a day or two here will be your best remedy. Longer is even better. There is also the convenience of the lovely village of Helmsley just a couple of miles away and an excellent farm shop/ eatery within 1/2 mile. Lots of great hiking and historical points of interest close by. We stayed for a week and didn't tire for things to do. We would happily stay here again. Thank you Fiona for a wonderful stay!
