We loved staying here! Lo Smeraldo is in a beautiful location with amazing views of the Mediterranean Sea. The apartment is well designed and equipped. The property manager, Carmela, was very helpful and efficient and was instrumental in getting local transportation set up for the wedding functions that we were attending in Ravello. One of the best things about the property is the lovely outside space with the Amalfi Lemon arbors providing shade from the heat; we spent a lot of time out there. The split units inside provided very good cooling during the hot days. To sum up, our stay at Lo Smeraldo was magical and I recommend it highly!

First thing, the view from the property is unmatched - its beautiful. The house itself and exterior area was lovely.But... the host lists the property as being just 150 steps away from the car park. Absolute rubbish. I walked it and it was 30 steps short of half a mile. Was also told it was a pleasant walk on a slight slope. Not even close to being the truth. Very steep slopes - a huge difference in height from the car park to the house. The walk from the house to the car park is very unpleasant, especially in the summer. Really dont mind exercise, but on holiday, Id like to be told the truth and avoid very strenuous exercise! The mis-truths about the distance and height ruined the experience for us and while we'd return to Scala, we wouldnt return to the house. The 'Baggage Service' is a boy with a mule. You are charged 10 per bag to move these. You arent warned but you have to pay 10 per night for a car park pass if you have a car.We were told we had very good wifi - its incredibly patchy and often just doesnt work. We needed to be in constant contact with ill parents at home, but for long stretches, we didnt have any way of contacting them - no signal and very temperamental wifi. The swimming pool looks lovely, but has very high levels of chlorine/chemicals - so much you cant get the water in your eyes. The host helped with lots of contacts and information which was all helpful. Would strongly recommend the golf cart 'taxi' which takes you to Amalfi and back.
