Self catering holiday chalet Orisaigh

The two chalets, ‘Erisort’ and ‘Orisaigh’, are located within the village of Leurbost, in the North Lochs area of the Isle of Lewis, and a 10 minute drive from the main town of Stornoway.
Built from Siberian larch timber, each chalet sleeps 4 persons.

In addition to 2 spacious bedrooms, there is a fully fitted modern kitchen, a bathroom with shower, and a separate toilet. The open-plan dining and living room area commands extensive panoramic views over sea lochs and the hills of Lewis and Harris. Patio doors open onto an extensive decking area that is ideal for barbecues and outdoor dining. Both chalets provide wheelchair access and are suitable for individuals with impaired mobility.

The chalets are fitted with modern appliances and a WIFI connection is also available.
This is a truly inspirational place for all the family to enjoy their holiday and to return home with unforgettable memories of these magical Hebridean Isles.

Each chalet has an adjacent dog kennel and separate outhouse, which provides washing and drying facilities. Separate parking is available directly outside the chalets, with sufficient space for several vehicles. A licensed local shop, and petrol station, is conveniently situated within a short drive or 15 minute walk. The shop offers an extensive range of groceries and fresh daily produce. In addition, the shop complex features a hairdressing salon and small cafeteria.

As an additional attraction, guests will be able to enjoy the benefits of a well-fitted sheiling (bothy) called ‘Airidh Nisreabhal’, which is the Gaelic name for the nearby hill and loch situated in this majestic location. It is conveniently placed en-route to the famous and mystical ‘Callanish stones’ and is just a short 3 minute drive from the chalets. The sheiling provides an excellent vantage point for bird watchers and hillwalkers, or, alternatively, a place of tranquility and relaxation for surfers, fishermen, businessmen, honeymooners and indeed anyone else who would like to enjoy the peaceful island country life.


The Chalet is fitted with an Electricity meter which can be topped up at the local shop 1.5 miles away.

We have had a fantastic holiday at the Heather Lodges. Apart from the fantastic view of the loch, the lodge itself was fully equipped, the accommodation cleanliness and quality of the accommodation was lovely. Great communication from Donald. Beautiful chalet in a lovely location. The kitchen was modern and well stocked with everything we needed which was important to us since we did cook several dinners there. The chalet had an open floor plan with a dining room, kitchen, and living room. There were also two separate bedrooms and two bathrooms. The chalet also had a lovely deck with table and chairs. This is a wonderful chalet, close to everything. We met with our hostess Christine the first night. She was very lovely and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

We loved the warm welcome and the chalet. Christine is a very personable person, I didn't meet Don her son, they both work in partnership.The chalet was warm and very clean. Kitchen was fully loaded, beds comfy and bathroom sparkling.Views are stunning front and back. Being wildlife lovers and photographers I was delighted to see Whooper Swans on the loch behind the chalet. The use of the sheiling was lovely albeit we only quickly visited on return from Callanish.The position of the chalet in Leurbost is fabulous, 2mins and you are on the main road to Harris or Stornaway.Orsisaigh is a place we would like to return to in the future. Beautiful get away on Isle of Lewis

Just a 15 minute drive to town and a beautiful redone chalet was the perfect island getaway. Well stocked kitchen and a lovely retreat with stunning views. Highly recommend if you want a peaceful and comfortable place to stay.

Great North Island Getaway

The view from the chalets was lovely, overlooking the loch and mountains. The chalet we stayed in was very clean and tidy. We had everything we needed for a self-catering holiday. Christine our host was very nice and friendly. She gave us information about the Island and which places to visit.
