Really clean and tidy place to stay. Ideal location for the village amenities, (shop, restaurants and pubs), great bus service. Really nice walks to local beaches. Never made it the pool but a really nice addition if you did make use of it.
We had the best time the bungalow is very spacious and tidy has everything you need your close to shops and takeaways and the beaches are mins away in a car and there beautiful the pool is amazing so lovely and warm I have zero faults with our stay the hosts were both extremely friendly and polite and super helpful with anything we needed we will 💯 be staying there again
Although the decor is a little aged the property and facilities were spot on. The pool was the icing on the cake, kids loved it. Location within easy reach of anything Cornish
Fabulous stay- quiet, peaceful and wanted for nothing.
Easy access to beaches and Newquay and Padstow.
Comfy bed plenty of hot water and heating.
Helpful hosts -would love to return.
The bungalow was lovely and spotless.
It had every thing you need. The back garden was beautiful and the pool was amazing. Such a bonus! We spent many hours in it.
Can’t wait to stay again.
The Property was accessed by an unfinished road which was a problem for our oldest member who is disabled and could not use her mobility scooter. The bungalow was generally well appointed, convenient for local beaches and amenities. The outdoor heated pool was a godsend which was well used during the July heat wave. The ladies expected a hair dryer which was missing or at least we could’nt find it. The TV & WiFi service was patchy and kept freezing which disappointed our younger members. One serious criticism is that the owners felt it was ok to just show up on three occasions without the courtesy of an introduction. He just walked in whilst we were at the property and again early one morning to access the garage. My family and I thought it was impolite not to at leastknock the door to introduce himself and ask if it was convenient to visit. The departure process was surprisingly intense, strip the beds, put the washing on, put all kitchenware in the dish washer, empty the rubbish bins all before the 9am departure time! Overall a good holiday enjoyed by a family of six which would have been excellent but for the above noted issues.
The house was spacious and very clean with all the facilities you would need including the added benefit of the heated pool which the kids really loved.
The gardens and pool area are really nice to relax of an evening.
The house is located near the beaches although probably too far to walk just because of the narrow roads and close to local shops including the always amazing bakery.
Would definitely stay again.
We had a great stay. Perfect location. We usually stay around the area but not in St Merryn specifically. The gardens are well kept, pool a perfect temperature and the house well furnished/equipped. We were a family of 3 generations and the property served us well. Would thoroughly recommend!
Weather was not exactly the best, but the property and location, more than made up for it. St Merryn is a lovely little town, excellent dog walking and Harlyn beach just down the road. The pool was most certainly, the cherry on the cake.
We booked this property to spend our honeymoon here.
We was not disappointed at all.
Absolutely beautiful place!
Lovely property inside and out.
Great owners also
We would definitely be returning.
Thanks lucy for everything.
The icing on the cake for us was the private outdoor pool at this property. It was heated to 24 degrees so we could even swim on cooler days, we loved it. The bungalow was spotlessly clean and very spacious. The only very slight criticism was that there was no handrail for the outside steps to the rear garden, which are quite steep. Otherwise - perfect and highly recommended.

Thank you for your lovely review. We hope to see you again in the future and we are looking into putting a hand rail on the garden steps.
Very pleasant stay overall . Outside pools do need regular maintenance and the intervals do vary depending on usage and the weather . So a mid week inspection was not a big surprise. What was , was the owner entering the property without announcing his arrival or knocking on the door. The first we knew was seeing him marching across the garden. I find this very poor practice and felt it was an invasion of our privacy .
There’s good and bad things to this stay. We’ll start with the bad. There is an active rodent issue around the outdoor space. We found what appear to be rat holes in the garden by the field & plenty of droppings on the steps by the house, on the paths, around the pool area & on the sun loungers. Reported this to the owners who dismissed it. Anthony the owner even kicked the dropping away & then decided to walk around the pool area which was lovely of him to do….I saw something dark in colour & of a reasonable size scurry from the hedge past the pool pump house so definitely an active problem.A main reason for booking this property was the pool, however our use was restricted. Anthony comes on a Mon, Wed & Fri to clean the pool. Now I appreciate a pool being cleaned and topped up, but when Anthony just arrives unannounced around 10.30am & stays 30-60 mins cleaning, then puts in the hose with cold water & disappears only to return early afternoon to remove it, kind of reduces the use of the pool. Not to forget the pool temp drops a good bit. The pool water was also very green for the first few days, but did become a bit clearer later in the week. If you are bringing a dog, then the garden isn’t secure. There is a gap in the hedge straight in to the fields which have sheep. Although the inside of the property was clean to a good standard, the blinds in the bedrooms have mould on them. The two double beds are not comfortable to sleep in and rooms are very warm.
We had a lovely stay at this quaint bungalow, which is in the perfect location with everything you could need right on your doorstep. Check-in was very smooth, and we really appreciated the milk and biscuits that had been left for us — such a lovely touch! The pool was also a great addition, and the living room felt really cosy and welcoming.Unfortunately, there were a few areas that we felt could be improved. The beds were very uncomfortable, and the mattresses were badly stained, to the point where it made us feel uncomfortable sleeping on them. One of our party actually had to sleep on the sofa as a result. There were also a few dog hairs left behind from previous guests, although we understand this is something that can happen in dog-friendly accommodation. The pool looked slightly green when we arrived and became cloudier as the week went on. The bungalow itself is lovely, quaint and full of character, but it did feel quite damp throughout our stay. Clothes hanging in the wardrobe felt damp, and the beds also felt damp each night.Overall, it is a lovely place with lots of potential, but we feel it could really benefit from a little TLC and attention to some of these issues. It may also be worth mentioning to future guests that the owner visits midweek to check the pool chemicals. This was particularly important for us as we had a dog, as they entered through the side gate and unfortunately left it open.Thank you for having us
Really great location in the seven bays area, only about 10mins to most beaches and Padstow. Property is the cleaned we’ve ever stayed in, so while decor is a bit dated we really didn’t notice it. Smart TV was a nice bonus. Pool is excellent, very private. St Merryn has everything you need including a great Pizza restaurant, Rick Stein pub and crab shack.
Fantastic experience from booking to holiday itself. Lovely property, fabulous gardens and superb pool. Our teenage sons loved swimming everyday, good location for beaches, good food and excellent pubs. Perfect.
Very well equipped bungalow, comfortable stay, the main draw for us was the private heated pool. We have stayed here before and were pleased to see the TV has been replaced with a modern flat screen. Overall very nice place with everything you need, if I'm being picky I would say that a handrail for the steps into the garden would be helpful as they are very steep.
This house was a wonderful surprise. We have stayed in St Merryn a few times. A much bigger than expected house and the pool was a bonus. Overall a lovely stay.
