Fantastic Location for All Types of Great Days Out

What a fantastic find, Brilliant location, just ten minutes from Weston Super Mare but located in very quiet relaxing surroundings. Great that we were able to walk in fields and woods directly behind the cottage. Cottage is lovely, clean and has everything required. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We hope to return very soon.

Quiet weekend

We recently had the opportunity to have a weekend away without the kids. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend of peace and quiet in this comfortable little bungalow and it was great that we could take the dog too. The property was equipped with everything that you could possibly need including some wood for the log burner. A really nice touch of tea/ coffee facilities and homemade flapjacks on arrival and the free range eggs provided by the resident hens and ducks were awesome! Thank you to Heather and Gary for making us most welcome and for the hints and tips on places to go in the locality. There is so much to do. We will definitely go back!

Great short break in a beautiful location

We struggled to find anywhere that would accommodate a family of four for a short 4day/3night stay during half term week but heather and Gary kindly allowed us use of their cottage. The location is beautiful with gorgeous views. Its private enough to enjoy and very peaceful nights sleep but close enough to local attractions, shops and pubs. We enjoyed a trip to the pier/beach at weston-super-mare and also went to puxton park which is a great day out for the kids. the cottage is also close to wookey hole. heather and Gary are great hosts and more than happy to provide any assistance required. their house is gorgeous with plenty of things to do onsite to keep the kids busy. our daughter particularly liked the trampoline and loved playing with barney the dog! Gary also gave us some bread to feed the ducks and chickens! the cottage itself is lovely and a very good size with all amenities you could possibly need. I would imagine it is great in the summer where you can make a bit more use of the outside furniture and BBQ. overall this was a thoroughly good break for us and we would recommend crook cottage to anyone who wants a change of scenery and a bit of peace and quiet, even with 2 kids in tow!

fanstisk ferie i dejlige omgivelser.

Manuela & Familie aus Falkensee (bei Berlin, Deutschland) Our family of 5 has spent beautiful days in Heather and Gary's cottage. The house is newly renovated, very nicely decorated and has all the things we needed for a vacation. The beds are very comfortable. The hosts are very nice people. They had a lot of great advices for us to see interesting sights. Our kids loved to play with the dog and feed the dugs and the chickens. We had a great vacation and can recommand it to everybody!!!! Wonderful stay

This was our third visit to the farm but our first stay in Crook Peak as previously we had stayed in the owners other property - Mendips View. Once again we had a wonderful stay. We booked this as Mendips View was already booked up but we're so glad it was in hindsight! Don't get me wrong, Mendips View is lovely however our youngest daughter (3 year old) has some health problems and is both a little unsteady on her feet and not really able to go up and down stairs without assistance. We found Crook Peak just as cosy and comfy as Mendips View but it was also lovely to not have to worry about our daughter having any accidents and being able to get around the whole property safely. We absolutely love it here and are gutted every time we have to go home to our semi detached housing estate home in the city! As soon as we arrive we're relaxed and though there's plenty to do in the area we're quite happy to spend a day around the house taking our dog for a walk in the fields and collecting wood for the fire in the evening. All the chickens, ducks and Barney the dog are also great fun for my girls and the handy supply of fresh eggs is also really nice for my daughter as eggs are one of the staples of the special diet she is on. Plus I get to have the odd one with bacon and sausages from the farm shop on the way to Bristol! Can't wait to go back again and when we do we'll probably opt for Crook Peak next time and book up Mendips View for my mother and her dogs!

We love that both our properties offer unique features for the needs of our visitors, Crook Peak being on one level so ideal for those less mobile. Both have direct access to over 40 acres of fields and woodland. The location is great, away from it all but only ten minutes to Weston Super Mare where several events are being held in June/July this year including a big Air day, including the red arrows.

crook cottage

i had a lovely holiday in the cottage, as it was lovely to have a place for myself and my two dogs but be very close to my son and grandchildren in the other cottage. I love to walk my dogs and there were some lovely walks across the fields and up in the woods. It was a lovely peaceful and relaxing holiday and our hosts including the hens, ducks and the gorgeous barney the spaniel were most friendly and helpful. hope i can come again .

120% chilled

We spent only 4 nights in this warm, comfortable, peaceful, & very relaxing holiday home. Gary & Heather are friendly & helpful hosts; available when required, but they leave you to enjoy your holiday. The cottage is great. We needed access for our wheelchair bound foster child, & had no problems at all. The whole place can be kept very warm, as required, has a very well kitted kitchen (everything from cafetieres to a dishwasher), and two en-suite bedrooms. The winged leather chairs in the lounge are a little too comfy after a day in the fresh air, as your eyes will get very heavy. The location may be a touch difficult to find first time, but is well worth it, as you feel miles from anywhere, but within minutes you can be on the coast or on the mendips. There is a Morrisons & a Sainsburys on the edge of Weston, country pubs in most villages & farm shops stocked with cider & cheddar nearby. So, the big questions - did we relax? yes. Did we enjoy our break? yes. Will we recommend this to friends? yes. Will we be back? yes. Tips: Prepare yourself to come back in a very relaxed state. Enjoy :-D

Another relaxed visitor that enjoyed the peace and quiet of the countryside but also confirms that you are not stranded in the middle of nowhere, civilisation is close! This visitor also appreciated the ease of access to this property as does one of our other visitors that has returned five times so far to us finding the property suits her "she feels like she is coming home" . The last time she stayed she was recovering from a toe operation.

Second Time Around

We visited the Cottage last year, but only could manage the 5 Days,This time we got he whole 7 Days.Once again the cottage didn't disappoint us.Its so peaceful and quite, in this little gem, tucked away in the hillside. The views are spectacular, the walks around the grounds are not to be missed.Weston Super Mare,Brean,Sand Bay beaches are a short journey away.Average time 10 mins. For the kids there is a Theme Park at Brean/Berrow.Cheddar Gorge is only the other side of the Mendip hills, also Whooky Hole is on the same route. Thanks Again to Heather and Gary and Nick for the welcome...

Not the last time !

We spend 7 wonderful days in your nice cottage close to Weston Super Mare. After a very warm welcome, we love the quietness of the location. The Kids like the animals of the house and enjoyed feeding. Playing around and everything is relaxing and easy going. Eventhough you are not in a city, driving distances to Supermarket and Beach for example are short. We highly recommend this place! We will come back.

Crook Peak

Beautiful location in the countryside, close to owners property but still felt very private and very peaceful. We were met with a warm welcome from the owner Gary who showed us around the property which was everything that had been advertised and very well equipped, everything one would need was there. The owners are very friendly, are were there if required with places to go, directions and any questions answered. The property was very well maintained and very clean. Tea and coffee along with homemade shortbread and flapjacks were a nice bonus welcome after a fairly long journey. Owners dog, ducks and chickens are all friendly. Many places to walk in the local countryside and a central local for main supermarkets and attractions. Weston-super-mare for lovely beaches and sand bay and brean sands ideal for dog walking. We also visited cheddar caves (excellent), wookey hole, Bristol acquarium and Zoo, Wells a beautiful old cathedral town. We took our dog with us who had a great time everywhere was not too far to pop back and collect the dog to take for walks etc if required. The owners Gary and Heather had excellent customer service and are very friendly, lovely people. I would recommend this cottage to others if they are looking for a peaceful location. We would certainly consider returning for a peaceful break. It was great.
