My nephews, ages 5 and 9, loved the outdoor space. The play equipment kept them entertained. The trail around the house was also fun. We all enjoyed the garden path out front. The grownups and kids all liked the dvd options as well.
Excellent opportunity to stay at a cabin in the woods but be close to town for conveniences. The home was exactly as the listing said, including clean and complete amenities.
The Journey's End was a comfortable and relaxing home base for our six day exploration of the Asheville area and the Great Smoky Mountains. The hosts were accommodating, offering suggested activities and dining recommendations. Our family especially appreciated the kitchen space and the bathroom. Overall, we had an excellent stay.
Beautiful and private outdoor space. Great location off I-26. It is located 30 minutes from Biltmore and Biltmore Village. Beautiful interior to rest in your own space during your travels.
This property was just what we needed. Very well maintained, close to where we needed to be, and tranquil. The entire place exudes positive energy, and the decorations are soothing. They have a strict "no noise" policy after 10pm which the owners themselves follow. We slept like logs, to be sure, which is very important with a high activity vacation. Cannot wait to visit again.

My husband and I had the best visit at The Journey's End! It is a large, beautiful lodge with beautiful surroundings and plenty of privacy. We truly hope to be back!
We had a lovely stay. The hosts were very, very responsive to all our questions and needs throughout the stay, but they also gave us our own space and privacy to relax (the perfect combo if attentiveness and privacy). The space is beautiful with amazing wood floors, new kitchen with anything you'd need, a spacious sitting area, and a very cool shower. We also enjoyed exploring what their property has to offer. (They are working on some new features that I expect will be awesome when finished!)
A couple of things to note for your planning as a guest, there is only one queen sized bed (which was very comfortable), so if you have more than two in your party, plan to use the couch and the cot. If you have a picky back, consider bringing your own air mattress or something you know you like, as the cot didn't cut it for my kiddos.
Also note that the family lives upstairs (with young ones) and you will hear them walking above you throughout your stay, so if you want to feel alone and have total silence, maybe this is not the retreat house for you. But if you don't mind happy family-life noises above your head, then you'll love your stay; the place was full of love and warmth.
Excellent not-so-little place! The pictures don’t really show how spacious this property is. So much room to spread out! The bathroom shower is especially lovely. We’d never experienced side-shooting shower heads before and now I’m 100%

It was a wonderful pleasure to host Jan & her husband. They took great care of the rental and were really sweet to communicate with. She expressed that the she sent the review premature, so I’ll add her final thoughts were that our shower inspired her to remodel their own with side sprayers! They also appreciated our help with recommendations and unique touch in the space. We hope to have them back in the Fall.
We can all agree that the year 2020, with all of its hardships, stress and anxieties, cannot end soon enough. But for a few days, we wanted time to stand still at The Journey’s End. Ehren and Renee are lovely hosts and the property is beautiful and serene.
The Journeys End blew us away!! I knew we’d love it based on pics and reviews but it’s even better in person! The home and setting is absolutely gorgeous, truly a dream spot. The owners are amazing people who have so clearly put their heart and soul into creating a beautiful home for others to experience! They didn’t miss a thing! The furniture and decor-awesome! Every time I looked around I found something else I hadn’t noticed before and it all just flowed and added to the ambience. Whimsical, dreamy, cool, tasteful, relaxing, colorful, spa quality, creative, thoughtful, and I could go on but these were just some of the words that came out of our mouths during our stay. We already know we’ll be back. The serenity we felt while there was unprecedented and we only wish we hadn’t had a schedule and so much to do as we were in N.C. for a wedding. Ehren and Renee are both amazing and joyful people. The care they put into making a beautiful place/space for people to stay is so evident! The spa bathroom is so great and they have every amenity you can imagine right there to use!! The kitchen has EVERYTHING needed as well. I just loved walking into every room and seriously did not want to leave. The view!!!!! Breathtaking. We will be back and next time get to meet Renee and their 3 daughters too! We got to meet Ehren in person but I only got to talk to Renee on the phone. Again, they’re both just lovely sincere people who make you feel so welcomed into their amazing home! Thank you so much for that!!
Why would anyone ever want to stay in a hotel when there’s a gem like The Journeys end!?!? I’d rate this place over 5 stars if I could and my husband and daughter agree.
Thank you to Ehren and Renee for putting so much of yourselves into your beautiful home and sharing it with others!!! You did an AMAZING job and all your hard work did not go unnoticed!
We had an amazing stay at The Journeys End! Close to many activites and restaurants in the area. Very comfortable home and beautiful mountain views, just what we were looking for. We loved the property and will definitely be back when we return to Asheville.

The area for guests is simply stunning and so accomodating!
The house is simply gorgeous. For two people the place was more than enough. The outside porch and swing was lovely with the views it was almost hard to stay in. The kitchen has everything you could need. Bathroom really spacious. And the bed was comfortable. The house is located perfectly outside of Asheville but not enough to even be bothered with noticing the distance. I would recommend staying here again and again.

Property nice; noise level terrible.
The apartment is lovely, but our weekend was ruined by the constant noise coming from the owner's household above the apartment from morning til night. There was walking, children running, talking, things dropping, and even yelling during a party, heard from above during our entire stay. I could not fall asleep on Saturday as this went on until 12:30am, and then I was awoken at 4:30am, and then again at 7am Sunday morning. We felt like there was zero consideration for us, the paying customer. Sadly, we couldn't wait to leave. If you are hopeful for a peaceful and relaxing weekend, you'd best not stay at this property.

The evening of this renters stay, we hosted family over that had been displaced from Hurricane Florence to celebrate our 3 year old daughters birthday. We traditionally never host gatherings while hosting renters, yet the corcumstances with the storm and the long advance the renters had placed on the rental (3 months) led us to keep the reservation, We had advised (and invited!) the guests of the gathering which took place during the day into the early evening. The noise levels carrying through the night into the early am is 100% false. This was a toddler party predominantly in the front patio ending in the evening after dinner albeit some noise was higher than usual inside. We will also note the renter broke our rental agreement smoking inside the property. As a future renter - we explore you to review the rest of the reviews to gain a clearer picture of the level of amenities and comforts we offer at the Journey’s End (9 - 5 star reviews). This review is not an accurate reflection of the love, consideration, and care we place into our renters experience.

Unique styling for a daylight basement
This home was very clean and generally well appointed. A few items needed were shades for windows and doors, luggage stands and sound deadening. The noise from the family and kids living upstairs was apparent every time someone walked across the floor above us.

Its important to share, that this guest did not accurately read the posting for this home and had assumed upon arrival the entirety of our 5500 Sq ft. estate was theirs. The disappointment was clear and their was little receptivity to the vast amenities provided after that realization. The Journey's End takes up the entirety of the lower half of our home. Although we have reinforced ceilings, carpeting above, a sound proof reinforced door, and 4 sound machines operating continuously - there is minimal noise to be anticipated.
We have acquired a luggage rack and an 18 ft. retractable room divider that completely blocks lighting in the studio room per this recommendation. We are exceedingly responsive to feedback and mindful of ensuring that we meet and exceed our guests expectations. However, it is of great importance to ensure that the description of our rental, its amenities, and our house guidelines are all taken into consideration before deciding if this rental is best for your family. We sincerely appreciate this consideration and look forward to continuing to elevate our guests experience here in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

Renee works in the healthcare field and I am the Artistic Arts Director of LEAF Global Arts (LEAF Festival). We have two beautiful young daughters and a pair of fine mountain dog. We have dedicated our lives to the service of others and are grateful to be able to now welcome guests to experience the beauty of all this area holds.
Why they chose this property
Our beautiful cabin is located just 20 min from Asheville - 2 min off of interstate 19. We chose this home to be able to enjoy the lush beautiful mountain property, explore outdoor adventure in dozens of regional recreation areas, and have quick easy access into the all Downtown Asheville offers.
What makes this property unique
The space is filled with unique cultural relics. Rare instruments, authentic Cherokee crafts, and ceremonial art can be found throughout. All aspects of the cabin from creating to decor are all placed together with intention and care. The land and space are also a lifelong project for us - as we take each day to continue to evolve it for the pleasure of all who visit.
