With a short walk you can visit the Pisan Romanesque Basilica of San Simplicio, the most important and ancient religious monument of north-eastern Sardinia. The vibrant old city center is very popular for small places in which you can taste the typical seafood local cuisine. Going along Corso Umberto I for its entire length, you reach the old port which houses the city museum which illustrates the entire historical story of the ancient city and the territory of Olbia with particular reference to its Phoenician, Greek, Punic and Roman origins. Elements of particular interest are the Roman and medieval wrecks found in the excavation of the ancient port, corresponding to the promenade of the current historic center.
