About this property

Cosy 18th Century Exmoor Cottage - Log Burner - Village Location

The Snug is a cosy cottage ideal for a couple or friends looking for some time away. With a log burner and a bedroom with exposed beams offering views over Dunkery hill, you might never want to leave the house!

Freshly renovated and located in the centre of the village of Timberscombe, The Snug is an ideal location for short to medium length breaks or those who are planning on spending the majority of their time in the great outdoors.

Downstairs we have a cosy lounge with a log burner and a small kitchenette (mini fridge, kettle, tea and coffee), allowing you to make a warm drink after a day exploring Exmoor. As there are no cooking facilities, The Snug is ideal for those looking to take advantage of the many local pubs and resturants. If you're looking for somewhere with a kitchen, please check out our other listings.

Upstairs is the king sized bedroom and the bathroom. Please note that this is an old cottage, so the stairs are fairly steep.

For those looking to stay connected whilst away, we have fibre broadband with a dedicated guest mesh WiFi network, meaning you will have fast and reliable internet.

Phone signal is generally good in the village. Vodafone, EE, and O2 customers should get 4G reception. ‘Three’ customers may struggle indoors, but WiFi calling is possible on our WiFi.

Timberscombe is a traditional farming village in the Exmoor National Park and is in prime position for exploring the surrounding area. In the village itself we have a fantastic pub, The Lion Inn, which is highly recommended for a meal and a drink. Conveniently it’s just a few doors down, so within easy stumbling distance! There’s also a local shop and Post Office should you need to top up on essential supplies.

We’re a three mile (six minute) drive to the historic medieval village of Dunster. Alternatively you can walk there via Nutcombe Bottom forest, which contains the tallest tree in England! We are also ideally placed to enjoy Snowdrop Valley, which is a spectacle not to be missed if you’re visiting in the winter.

Minehead is six miles (10 minutes) down the road, and contains all of the amenities you could require for a week away. There are three supermarkets (Tesco, Morrisons, and Lidl) all within a stones throw of each other.

A beautiful little cottage in a quaint little town surrounded by stunning scenery and 100ft from the local pub! Perfect for a couple on a long weekend stay. Was decorated to perfection and has a log fire for a homely country feel. Simply wonderful!
