The house is great, location is perfect for visiting towns in the Peak District area. It’s big and we have a family of 6 adults and 3 children. The house is so well equipped. The host thinks of all the details and covers everything you need for a comfortable stay. It very clean and spacious and the beautiful garden is perfect for kids to enjoy the outdoor. Not to mention the house has board games in the quite study room for the family to enjoy. The host also respond promptly when we have any questions. Our family had a great time and we strongly recommend this house! Thank you!

A lovely property in a great location

We had a great stay in this lovely cottage. The place is well equipped, comfortable and full of character. We enjoyed sitting out around the table in the back garden and watching the world go by. It's also very well located with a pub within 5 minutes walk and a fine-dining restaurant just across the road, both of which of we availed ourselves of!

Countryside Holiday

Vernon House is a fantastic property. We found the location to be a perfect home base for our England adventures. The home is well appointed and very comfortable. Our stay extended to just under three weeks so we were able to settle into not only the home but the community as well. I can’t think of a more idyllic countryside experience. Locally, be sure to visit E.W. Coates, for meats, Chatsworth Farm Shop for fresh veggies, bread, fruit and sundries. Matlock and Matlock Bath are fun neighborhoods to shop. The Peacock restaurant is a must, offering wonderful culinary talent and lovely staff. A favorite recommendation is a walk to the Nine Ladies Circle; truly magical, albeit somewhat elusive. Don’t give up looking! My wife and I did some road tripping from Rowsley to Norwich, then Huntingdon to London, Oxford and back to Vernon House. At the home, we found the kitchen suitable to prepare some lovely meals. The two sitting rooms allowed for relaxing with a book or watching a movie without bothering. The bathrooms and bedrooms were my favorite. Very comfy beds and beddings, ample sized rooms and plenty of dressers and wardrobes to unpack and really settle in. Overall, one of my more wonderful experiences. I am very thankful to have shared time with my family at Vernon House. I hope, one day, to return.
