We had a lovely time here. The gîte is set in a green valley on a quiet country road, but is only a 5 minute drive from Bernay (and the Intermarché).Sylvie and Hubert were very friendly and helpful - recommending a local restaurant for a celebration and even booking it for us!The swimming pool arrangement suited us fine and we could choose what time to use it each day.We had a relaxing 10 days here and would recommend!

What a charming house in the middle of Normandy. The owners. Sylvie and Hubert, are nice and welcoming. We’ve enjoyed their hospitality and the pleasant conversations together.Nice and quiet, surrounded by cows, NO MUSQUITOS (!), and Bernay is just a 5 mins Ride from the house. All beaches are approx 1 hour driving, Omaha Beach (D-Day) 2 hours. The Saturday morning market in Bernay was lovely, nice restaurants and many supermarkets are closeby.A lovely holiday!

Hubert and Sylvie are excellent hosts, attentive without being intrusive and full of recommendations for exploring the local area. We stay in Normandy most summers and love the culture and warm welcomes in the area. The gite is lovely, with three good sized bedrooms and plenty of space for eating and relaxing. The pool was very welcome after a hot day walking around Rouen, and the friendly cows in the adjoining field were great to see. Bernay is a lovely town with several great restaurants, only about a 5-10 minute drive, although it only takes an hour to walk in down quiet roads through the nearby wood. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Hubert, Sylvie and Vodka the dog, and will certainly try to make it back to this lovely quiet corner of the Carentonne!

Relaxing break

Sylvie and Hubert were excellent hosts who made us feel very welcome. The house is set in a lovely location, and it was great to have the pool during the heatwave. Nearby Bernay is an amazing town -- don't miss the Saturday market.

Lovely house, lovely people

Hubert and Sylvie were very welcoming and hospitable and the gite was everything we needed it to be. It was very close and convenient to explore Bernay. The pool was a big draw for us and our children and it was clean and a great size. Hubert and Sylvie were very kind and accommodating for our use of it for one to two hours every day (it is situated in their garden which is 50m away but on the same site). It was a lovely relaxing stay and we would hope to come back!
