Apartment in the heart of the Alps along the Via Francigena with a garden

The apartment, which is approximately 100 square metres and has been recently renovated, is located in Gignod and is spread over two floors. <br>Upon entering, guests are greeted by a large, bright living area. On the same floor, there is a spacious, fully equipped kitchen with wooden cabinetry, a bedroom with two beds (two singles or one double), and a bathroom. On the lower floor, there is a double bedroom and a second bathroom. <br>The apartment offers free Wi-Fi, two televisions, a double oven, a refrigerator and an American-style freezer with a water and ice dispenser, a microwave, a dishwasher, a coffee maker, a kettle, a toaster, a washing machine, and a hair dryer. <br>Outside the house, there is a small balcony on one side and, on the opposite side, a spacious and well-maintained garden where guests can relax. <br>There is a free, covered public car park in the immediate vicinity. <br>The apartment overlooks the Via Francigena trail, which has recently been restored; this route was once travelled by the Salassi, then by the Romans, and later by pilgrims in the Middle Ages who were heading towards the capital. <br>Gignod can serve as a starting point for fabulous hikes or bike rides, whether you’re an avid athlete or simply want to immerse yourself in nature without too much exertion. There are many marked trails with varying levels of difficulty. <br>During the winter season in the Grand Combin valley, of which Gignod is a part, there are various snow-based activities to enjoy: cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, snowshoeing, and ski mountaineering. There’s no shortage of snowparks either. <br>Although Gignod is a small, picturesque mountain village, it offers a variety of services. There is a supermarket, a bar that sells newspapers and tobacco, a restaurant, and several farm stays where you can sample local specialities, as well as a pharmacy, a laundromat, a hardware store, a children’s playground, a 9-hole golf course situated on a natural slope, and an indoor swimming pool to enjoy on rainy days (complete with a wellness centre and spa). <br>The Carrefour hypermarket in Pollein and the Les Halles shopping centre, as well as other supermarkets and stores of various kinds (clothing, home goods, etc.), are a 10-minute drive away. <br>Aosta, the regional capital, is the same distance away. Known as the “Rome of the Alps,” Aosta is a charming town with a high street lined with shops, monuments, and museums that is certainly worth a visit.
