A great short stay, or temporary residence that is easy to locate, comfortable and affordable. Built in the 1930's it has served as a family friendly apartment unit continuously since that time.

2 Bedroom Apt was clean, comfortable, ample parking, prompt host communication, however very warm temperature and building entrance could had been more inviting.
My husband and I enjoyed our night here. It was beautifully decorated, quiet, and clean! Marc was very responsive when we had to change our reservation date.
Enjoyed our stay at this apartment near Reading. While very old building, it was still comfortable and the rooftop patio was a great bonus. Very pleasant host, highly recommend
In Reading for the unveiling of a sculpture in City Park
Property is as described "vintage architectural charm will welcome guests with comfortable, yet up to date accommodations". We had a very pleasant stay.

Thank you for your response and for choosing our 2 bedroom apartment in Mt Penn.
This unique vintage apartment was the perfect location for my stay in the area. The place is clean and comfortable and it is in a nice neighborhood. I loved having my coffee on the balcony in the morning!

Hi Kelly. Thanks for your stay and the review! I hope I didn’t impose to much when I showed up to clean. Thanks to you though there wasn’t much to straighten up. The place looked great. Much appreciated. Marc
Thanks for making the stay so convenient. It was great to be able to make some coffee in the morning, and the bathroom had plenty of towels, shampoo and body wash. Cozy place.
Quaint little place that was clean and had comfortable beds. We enjoyed our quick one night there. Only negative is the pull out bed is not sleepable.

We are so sorry about your inconvenience.
The issue with the sleeper bed has been corrected. Had someone notified us during your stay it would have been corrected immediately.
This was perfect little condo for our visit with our daughter. The location was close to the wedding venue. Its has old time charm with a comfortable feel. Bed was comfy and living room was spacious.
My friend and I were in Reading to attend the Night Lights lantern festival. We found this little gem and it was perfect for our overnight stay. The apartment was clean, cozy and well stocked. The beds and couches were comfy and the outside patio was fantastic to have morning coffee overlooking the quiet and beautiful neighborhood. The decor was tasteful and charming making us feel right at home. Overall a very nice VRBO - thank you!
I grew up ~7 blocks away from this wonderful 2nd-floor flat, in town for a high-school reunion. I loved the facilities, location, “walkability” of the neighborhood, and especially the kindness and flexibility of host Marc. Very roomy apartment with all the promised appliances, etc. My favorite “room” was the front deck, with a beautiful view of Antietam Valley - ideal spot for morning coffee or evening nightcap. I look forward to returning.
My mom, sister, niece and myself spent the weekend antiquing in Adamstown and needed a great place to rest. This apartment was perfection. Cutest neighborhood ever. The apartment was bigger and more spacious than the pics showed. The balcony was everything, we sat and watched the sun set and the neighborhood go by. The place was very clean and fully equipped. We are already planning next trip just to stay yhete longer

Happy to here the apartment worked out well - as well as your trip to Adamstown. You are welcome back anytime.
From the solid wood front door (complete with blacksmith hinges), to the turn of the century milk box, it was an unexpectedly nostalgic trip back to my earliest memories, of a time when life was simpler and so much safer! The pictures don't really capture the feel of the place. I loved the balcony, and the well maintained decor and fixtures.
Marc is a very gracious and friendly host, thank you so much for helping make my daughters wedding a relaxed and memorable event!

Three flights of steps with NO elevator. Electrical extension cords connecting things with multi plugs in outlets. Place was quaint but dated and safety questionable.

The owners obviously tried! Decor was suited someone's who loves the Victorian style. As hard as they tried, though, the factors that put me off were the very hard bed, the extension cords everywhere (numerous warnings that using multiple things would trip breakers) the carpeted bathroom (ew!) and threadbare, uneven floors. Some might find it charming; to me the place just seemed tired and out of date. Finally, as a disabled person with a cane, the outside uneven stairs and 2 inside flights up to rental were a challenge.
My wife and I stayed here for a little getaway. The apartment is quaint and has old world charm (even down to the squeaky floors.) it’s located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Overall, we had a nice time there.
Great place to stay. Very unique apartment and easy to get too. If you're into older style homes and apartments this is for you!

About the host
Hosted by Marc and Nita
We just retired, but love to travel and host others. After relocating and closing our bed and breakfast in Oley, PA the option of offering alternate short term lodging became feasible. The Mill Stone - Mt Penn lodging was our solution! We still provide cozy comforts for others and an option for us to stay involved with hospitality as well.
