About this property

Large 14th century winemakers house

The property has been restored to enhance the ancient features, but has the latest amenities and conveniences for the guests. Perfectly situated in the village with its own off road parking yards away. The village has a boulangerie, a number of restaurants and, places to taste and purchase the fantastic Burgundy wine. All within easy walking distance. Easy access to Beaune and all the famous wine villages of Burgundy.

The house dating back to the 14th century was the home of local winemaker Jean Michelot whose family lived in Pommard since the 1600's.

The house retains many of its ancient features and character including large oak beams, ancient flagstones and an oak staircase to the top floor. Some of the furniture also date back to C17th.

Despite the property retaining its character it has all the amenities that one would expect from a quality rental home.

The ground floor has two entrances (one has no steps into the property). There is a large bedroom on the ground floor which has an ensuite bathroom. The washing machine and dryer are also situated in a cupboard in the bathroom. The beds downstairs can be made either two singles or a king sized double.

Stairs lead to the first floor which is a very big open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge. Kitchen is fully equipped. The TV in the lounge has both french and English channels.

An old oak staircase leads to the top floor bedroom (king sized double) which has a large ensuite bathroom with separate shower.

Leading from the top floor bedroom is access to the roof terrace space where you can comfortably seat 4 people. A parasol is available for those really hot days. You can get a view of the famous Pommard vineyards from the terrace while you enjoy a glass or two of the local wine.

A welcome pack is provided, free of charge on arrival.

Wifi is available throughout the property.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Location Burgundy is owned and operated by a husband and wife team, Steve and Jill Powell, originally from the UK, but now full time Burgundy residents. We take great pride in providing a quality holiday and experience for our guests so they can enjoy Burgundy as much as we do.
All our properties are located in the celebrated wine villages between Beaune and Santenay with the majority of them in Puligny Montrachet, Meursault, and Pommard.
We are committed to providing a personal and local touch. We personally visit all of our properties on the day of arrival to make sure the property is set up to the standard we expect. We also provide a welcome pack of local items for guests to enjoy as they start to relax into their holiday.
We love to support some of our favourite local businesses and as a result we are developing a range of partnerships with them. The details of these partnerships are on the website and also in the Housebook provided in the property.
You will also find in the Housebook details of local facilities and some suggested “things to do” but if you need help or advice please contact us. We will always try to help.
We live in Santenay, so are always available to owners and guests alike whenever the need arises.
All our properties have been renovated to a high standard and we have a range of tradesmen available to assist with any maintenance and repairs required.
We hope you choose to holiday in Burgundy, it really is a wonderfully relaxing and interesting region to explore, where the ‘locals’ are open to visitors and will give you a very warm welcome.
