Inviting Log Home in Quiet Valley near Yellowstone

Overlooking a beautiful pond, this immaculate older log home offers gorgeous views and a peaceful location and is the perfect place for larger groups or families to relax. Enjoy three bedrooms, two full baths, a spacious living room and eating area, and a full kitchen upstairs. Downstairs, there are three additional bedrooms, comfortable living area, and full bath.

Our inviting log home is located halfway between Cody and the East Gate of Yellowstone National Park. The home is easily accessed from the US Hwy. 14-16-20, a route which Teddy Roosevelt once called the “most scenic 52 miles in America”. With its beautiful views and rustic, rural location that feels like an old western movie set, this is the perfect place to relax and unplug.

Horseback riding, hiking, and fishing are all near by. An easy 25-minute drive away, Cody, home to the world-famous Center of the West with its five separate museums, is home to art galleries, river rafting, grocery stores, and great shopping and restaurants. There are also several restaurants and a small convenience store within five miles of the ranch.

An additional six-bedroom home as well as a small cabin and a large multi-purpose lodge are also located on the ranch making it a perfect spot for larger groups and family reunions. The buildings are set apart so that each has its own privacy. Please contact us for more information on renting multiple buildings on this property.

Our home is on the other side of the large property. We are around the property most days and are always available to meet and help our guests. We enjoy visiting and getting to know our guests and are glad to offer suggestions and advice regarding the area.

Because this home is located in a rural setting, guests should be aware that cell phone service is somewhat limited. Internet (including Wi-Fi) is available in the house; however, guests should be aware that this is satellite-based Internet and speeds are quite slow. Additionally, data usage is capped making the service unsuitable for heavy download usage. We request that our guests refrain from video streaming and gaming. A television with a DVD player is provided in the downstairs living area, but there is no cable service available.

There is no central AC in the house, but there is a window unit in the kitchen and multiple fans available for guests’ use.

Because it is difficult to remove strong odors from logs, cooking of strong-smelling foods, including curries and deep-fried items, is not permitted.
Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the ranch.

The Pond House

We had an amazing stay here. The house was clean and in a perfect location to go between Yellowstone National Park and Cody. We enjoyed seeing all of the wildlife and the owners are very helpful. We hope to be back soon.

The pictures don't do justice to how beautiful the location is here in the entrance to the Yellowstone Valley area. The cabin was immaculately clean and very spacious. The hosts were kind and very responsive. The only drawback was the oven which was not vented so if your going to broil, (and you will need to as there is no barbecue) get prepared for some smoke. Great place for older families about 90 minutes to the Fishing Village in Yellowstone were the fun begins.

Good Location for Yellowstone

Nice place to stay. Half way between Yellowstone and Cody. Our stay was in July, it was hot and could have used better air conditioning. The basement was alsway nice and cool. There was 10 of us on motorcycles. The driveway was maintained and navagable. The size of the dining table and living room was great. Had fun when it was time to eat.

This is an excellent place to stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Wapiti! The cabin is convenient to both Cody and Yellowstone so there was lots to see and do. If we didn’t feel like going out, we hiked around the cabin and it is absolutely breathtaking. We chose this property mainly because each of our four grown kids each wanted their own bedroom. We even had one to spare. The place is clean and cozy. Doug and Yvonne took really great care of us. They are wonderful hosts! They made our stay special and we appreciate all the detail (new kitchen brush and sponge for our visit) and hard work they put into making our vacation perfect. Thanks! We hope to come back one day with more family members. 😁

Great space with three bathrooms (very rare to have more than one bathroom in this area). Very clean. Very responsive hosts that gave us great advice on things to do in the area. Views/scenery were spectacular. Really liked staying between Cody and YNP, very convenient. No true AC, but fans in bedrooms. Still need to open windows up for some breeze.

We spent 5 wonderful days at this home. The hosts were just awesome with their suggestions. The home was exactly what we needed for our group with persons from 10 to 70. If you want to get away from it all, the Pond House is the perfect place to be! Six friends enjoyed the quiet location and the house is roomy and very comfortable! The property was extremely clean. Property was easy to find, perfect location for our travel to Yellowstone and overall perfect for our family. Room enough for each teen to have their own room and so relaxing. Peaceful Ranch

We loved our stay at the Pond Cabin!! It was very clean, peaceful, and a beautiful area. My favorite part will always be our visits from owner Doug!! I even had my picture taken with him. He is the sweetest, funny, knowledgeable, man!! I always looked forward to seeing him. He was always giving us information which we greatly appreciated. If you get the chance to stay at one of their cabins please do it. You wont be disappointed. we hope to go back in a year or so.
