Surrounded by breathtaking mountain views, Fort Michaels sits on 1.5 acres of wooded, creek-side property located conveniently between the East Entrance of Yellowstone and historic Cody, WY. This cabin offers immaculate yet rustic indoor accommodations that include a fully equipped kitchen and laundry appliances to make you feel at home. There are indoor and outdoor dining areas and a hybrid propane/charcoal grill so you can enjoy the mountains as you cook a well deserved meal after a long day of exploring. This property is perfect for small groups (max 4) and couples who want a private place to return to in the evenings; however, it's so beautiful that you might consider spending a day by the creek reading a book and listening to the birds.

We LOVED staying at the cabin! Everything was just as described and super peaceful. The location is amazing and close to Yellowstone National Park. The hosts are super nice and easy to work with. If you enjoy nature then you will enjoy this place. I would highly recommend staying in this beautiful place.

Our stay at Cozy Cabin by the Creek was absolutely perfect. The cabin was spacious, cozy, and beautifully maintained. We especially loved the frequent visits from the native squirrel — such a charming touch, and the provided treats made it even sweeter. The host was incredibly responsive and even sent a thoughtful welcome note with local hiking tips. The quiet, scenic location, along with the fresh, clean linens, made our stay wonderfully relaxing. This is the kind of place you want to return to again and again.

Great place to stay, especially if you want to explore Yellowstone and the Bighorn Basin. When you enter the park from the East Entrance you enter half way into the park. When you stay at Cozy Cabin, you go into the park from the East Entrance. Also, you can go to the Bighorns, Tetons, Red Lodge and Cody very easy. Views are awesome from the Cabin. Out the front, mountains. Out the back Green Creek.Regards,Bart

We visited this area for two nights. The cabin was well marked and easy to find. The cabin is very clean and cozy. It had a very down home feel. It’s not fancy but it gives you a comfortable relaxed feeling right away. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen is very spacious and easy to work in. Everything you need is in the kitchen, although a large frying pan might be a great addition and maybe another good spatula. I made a meal in the kitchen on the first night and found it very simple to do. The real highlights of the cabin are the very comfortable bed, even though it is a smaller queen size bed, the vigorous shower with bountiful hot water, and the perfectly delightful back porch area with a very friendly squirrel in attendance!The host was also very great at communications and very helpful. Overall, we enjoyed our stay immensely.

Great for a Getaway

My family stayed two nights at this cabin and it was perfect for our needs. It was peaceful and quiet, but close enough to Cody for dinner and activities. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area!

Beautiful cabin outside of Cody

Nice sized cabin with a great view. We had everything we needed to be comfortable. The drive into Cody was 27 minutes and the view was amazing. Nice place to stay.

We moved to Cody, WY from Boston, MA in 2013 after a lifetime of desire for a quieter and more adventurous lifestyle. Wanting to live somewhere where every weekend was what we described as our dream vacation, we came upon the listing for Fort Michaels and it was love at first sight. We purchased the home and lived there happily for 3 years, slowly renovating the old hunting camp into the beautiful country cabin it is today. Now we have moved back to Cody proper and want to share our dream home in the mountains with guests traveling to this beautiful northwest corner of Wyoming for the same reasons we did.
