Boulder Ridge Cabin -a private chalet in the woods

If you are looking for a private, quiet retreat, that's only 15 minutes from Deep Creek Lake, Wisp Resort, shopping, etc., this cabin is for you. Inside the cabin you'll find a well equipped kitchen, a large living area with a wood burner for cool evenings, a laundry room, a loft bedroom, and a bathroom with shower/tub combo. Outside there's a screened porch with chairs, a campfire area, a hammock, beautiful boulders. We've cleared a trail through the woods that leads to a bench for wildlife viewing or just relaxing.
Sleeping arrangements are a queen bed in the loft and a full pull out couch in the living room.
If you're looking for dates that are already booked, check out Fern Hill Cabin on Bear Ridge Court for available dates. It's in the same general location. Sorry no dogs at Fern Hill Cabin.
PLEASE BE ADVISED, A 4x4 OR ALL-WHEEL VEHICLE IS REQUIRED DURING THE WINTER MONTHS. I RECOMMEND NOV 1ST THROUGH APRIL 15. VISTA RIDGE DRIVE AND THE DRIVEWAY TO THE CABIN ARE ONLY PLOWED AFTER 6" OF SNOW HAS FALLEN

Disposable grilling trays are provided for cooking strong odorous food on the grill. Please do not cook bacon or strong smelling fish inside cabin.
Pets are not allowed on couches or beds unless visitor brings two sheets to cover the couches and queen or king size bedding for the bed.

Cabin in the woods

Beautiful cabin set in the woods. Enjoyed sitting on the deck and appreciating nature. Cabin was as described and very clean. Definitely would recommend this property.

Amazing cabin and such a cozy Christmas

My boyfriend, me, and my dogs spent Christmas at the Boulder Ridge Cabin! It was such a peaceful and cozy place to spend the Holidays! The cabin and property are so wonderful and relaxing. We even arrived to snowy wonderland on Christmas Eve! We stay in quite a few VRBO type places every year, and this was definitely one of our favorites! The Hosts are very responsive and provide everything you could need during your stay!!!We will definitely be back soon!!!

Another Great Stay

Enjoyed another great stay at Boulder Ridge! It is our favorite getaway with our dogs. Quiet yet close to the activity of Deep Creek Lake. Comfortable with all the amenities we need. My favorite place is on the screened in porch. We will be back!

Great little cabin in the woods

We loved the cabin, everything was great, from the woods around us to the comfortable furniture and bed. We got a surprise snow and the landscape was beautiful. We will definitely be returning for a spring/summer or fall visit.

Lovely cabin

This lovely cabin is perfect for a get away. Property is tucked away but easy access to many hikes and ski resort. Susan was a great hostess. We will be back!

Wonderful Retreat

My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary. The house is charming, well maintained, and clean. The property is very private and beautiful. The trails are a nice touch. The host is super nice and very good at communicating. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped.

7th Anniversary trip

Beautiful cabin. Susan has thought of everything you could possibly need on a trip. Very clean and nicely decorated. The weather was unfortunately horrible every day. Susan had plenty of movies and games to help pass our time.We hope to stay again next year.

Perfect Location

The property is situated just perfectly for us. Within an hour or so we could be to the many places we wanted to see. Fort Necessity, Coopers Rock, Arthurdale Morgantown. Only 20 minutes from Oakland and McHenry. The area in Friendsville where the cabin sits is very private. We really enjoyed " coming home" after a day spent adventuring.

Anniversary Get-a-way

My husband and I were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. The cabin was AWESOME!!! A great place to just get away, even if it was just for a few days, and refresh. Very quiet, secluded, clean. All basic necessities were supplied plus extra. Loved going for walks, sitting on the bench overlooking mountain. Also thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch, drinking coffee and watching the deer. Looking forward to the next time we can get away.

We had a wonderfully peaceful stay at this perfect cabin. The owner, Susan, met us when we arrived and gave us the grand tour. Susan provides you with everything you need for your stay. We only had to bring our personal belongings and food, which made it such a relaxing time. She goes above and beyond for her guests. Seclusion and Close to Everything

It was a peaceful stay-secluded without feeling so remote from everything. Great spot and the owners really thought of little things to make the stay more comfortable. Clean towels and linens. Cabin was spotless. Plenty of wood fire for the wood burning stove and campfire. Kitchen is a bit outdated but that’s a minor minor issue as the rest is really a lovely place. The owners clearly thought of making this a special place for the guests with fresh trails, screened back porch, campfire with plenty of fire logs, park bench to enjoy the views and plenty more. Don’t hesitate to stay here! Plenty of games and DVDs so if you forget, no worries!

Quiet mountain cabin stay

What a lovely stay we had at the Boulder Ridge Cabin! We were taken back at first by how secluded the cabin was but quickly learned that access to everything we could want or need was just 15 minutes away. The cabin offered not only convenience but also a relaxing get-away site. Susan was absolutely incredibly responsive and helpful sharing where shopping and restaurants were as well as the great attractions that the area offered. We took advantage of everything from walks on the numerous trails to a farmer's market and local shopping as well as eating at some fabulous restaurants. The rest of our visit was spent on the large screened-in porch enjoying coffee in the morning listening to the owls and coyotes to leisurely afternoons and evenings reading or watching the birds at the various feeders. The visit was exactly what we needed! Thank you Susan for sharing your lovely little cabin in the woods!

Charming and private cabin! Couldn’t be happier.

We were so pleased with this adorable cabin. The owners thought of absolutely everything. It’s a smart use of space and there are cozy, warm touches everywhere. Very affordable, super clean and comfortable. A great value. We will definitely be back and will stay longer this time. Wish we had realized we’d want more nights sooner. Susan also suggested Muddy Creek Falls, which was stunning. We lucked out with perfect fall weather. We’re avid campers and wanted a cabin experience this time with lots of outdoor lounging by the fire, but with the comforts of a fully stocked cabin. It was a fantastic outdoor escape without the effort of setting up camp. Thanks again! We highly recommend this cozy cabin.

Wedding Anniversary Getaway

This Cabin, Visit, Area Sights and Hosts, (Susan and John), Were Beyond Quality of What We Expected!!! In Fact, Our Stay Was So Relaxing That My Wife and I Stayed Another 2 Additional Nights Than Previously Scheduled, Due To Availability on Rental Schedule. Susan was Incredible in Assisting Us With Our Requests. She Has Been a Tribute to This Retreat From The Very Beginning, as She Always Was Very Promp in Answering Any Of Our Inquiries, From the Start of Our Reservation Requests Up To and Including Those at The Very End !!! So Very Peaceful and Relaxing That We Caught Up on Regaining Much Needed Rest !!! This Actually Ended Up Being The One of The Most Favorite Getaways That We Had Have In Our 13 Years of Marriage.
