The apartment is new and is located on the ground floor of a beautiful Art Nouveau-style villa built in 2014, set within a charming garden just a short walk from the centre of Lazise. The apartment is very bright and equipped with every comfort; it consists of an entryway with a fully equipped kitchen and living room, a bathroom with a shower, a charming master bedroom with a spacious closet and chest of drawers, and a second double bedroom, also with a closet. In addition, there is a covered parking space in the basement and a laundry room where you can wash, dry, and iron your clothes.The apartment’s windows offer a beautiful view of the Italian-style garden, with boxwood plants surrounding the Palladian-style crossroads made of Botticino marble; at the centre of the crossroads is a three-tiered fountain where birds often stop to drink. This garden is bordered by two rose gardens featuring plants selected from among the most award-winning varieties. The garden contains more than 200 rose plants representing at least 25 different species. Just beyond the rose gardens is a row of olive trees that provide shade for the hammocks during the summer, creating a relaxing green space. There is an area intentionally left open as a green lawn, surrounded by typical Mediterranean plants (olive trees, cypresses, oleanders, roses), where there is a gazebo. Here, you can set up lounge chairs and umbrellas for sunbathing, as well as chairs and small tables for breakfast or afternoon tea. On the opposite side of the house is a small herb garden with aromatic plants (basil, thyme, mint, sage, rosemary, bay leaves). At the back of the house, there is a terrace with a table and chairs for breakfast; beyond the terrace lies a grove of wild plants and a stream that flows through the property before emptying into Lake Garda. The villa’s apartments were designed for year-round living rather than as holiday homes; guests are welcome year-round, partly because Lake Garda is a wonderful place to visit even in winter, and partly because there are many events in the nearby cities of Verona, Venice, Mantua, Milan take place frequently even during the winter months (the Feast of St. Lucy in Verona, Christmas markets in Verona, the Venice and Verona carnivals, Valentine’s Day…).
Guests are always warmly welcomed, usually with a small surprise gift.
A BIT OF LAZISE’S HISTORY: Lazise is an Italian municipality in the province of Verona, located on the eastern shore of Lake Garda. This geographical location grants it a setting of great scenic beauty, but it also boasts elements of significant architectural value and historical importance.In addition to these features, Lazise boasts a thermal spring in Colà, the amusement parks Canevaworld and Gardalande, and an expansive hilly agricultural landscape. The most imposing structure in Lazise is the Scaliger Castle and the city walls surrounding the historic centre. The castle was built during the rule of the lords of Verona, Bartolomeo II and Antonio della Scala, or perhaps shortly before that by their father, Cansignorio della Scala (since the Porta Nuova bears the date May 21, 1376)[34]. The town has always had three entrance gates equipped with portcullises and drawbridges:
Porta Superiore, now commonly called Porta San Zeno, for access from the east;
Porta Lion (so named because it bore the coat of arms of the Serenissima), providing access from the south;
Porta Nuova (so named because it was the last to be built), today commonly called Porta Cansignorio, providing access from the north.
EVENTS:
Regata delle Bisse—Held between July and August. The Lacisiense leg of the Bisse Championship, featuring traditional Venetian-style rowing boats (with four standing rowers and no coxswain), organised by the Lega Bisse del Garda. The boat that wins the championship receives the lake’s flag as a trophy[38].
Festa dell’Ospite – Takes place in late July in Pacengo and in late August in Lazise. There are various food stalls selling local specialities, musical concerts, and a closing fireworks display[38].
Ancient Festival of the Madonna della Neve - Held in Colà in early August. When the area was still exclusively agricultural, this was the festival of the families of Colà, during which they would showcase their best produce to visitors. Among the traditions still associated with this festival in Colà is the culinary tradition of “Anara col pien” (stuffed roast duck). There are also musical evenings featuring live dance performances[38].
Cuccagna del Cadenon – It takes place in late August,
