About this property

Murphy's House Central Townhouse W/courtyard

Summary:

Embrace the historical charm of this quintessential Bathonian residence. The home showcases original period features, plank wood flooring, subtle uses of colour amid neutral whites and greys, antique furnishings, and an outdoor lounge space. It's a beautiful space in central Bath.

Tucked away in a quiet, classically Bathonian square in the centre of town this exceptionally spacious, terraced house with a large outdoor courtyard is warm and welcoming making it a home-away-from-home for your city break!

LIVING SPACE

Complete with generous corner sofa and rocking chair, the living space is cosy and relaxing but still with plenty of space for you to unwind. The feature fireplace and shutters add character while the bookshelves are lined with books for you to choose from before you curl up on the sofa...

KITCHEN

The large, eat-in kitchen is well equipped with a Rangemaster gas hob and electric oven, washing machine and dryer and fridge freezer as well as the basics to welcome you including tea and coffee. Just off the kitchen is the snug, nestled under a vaulted ceiling this space is perfect for the kids to chill out in while dinner is underway!

BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS

The three bedrooms are light, airy and modern and have comfy memory foam mattresses. Also with feature fireplaces, window shutters, exposed floorboards and contemporary artworks, creating relaxing spaces to unwind in after a busy day sightseeing...

The house boasts two luxurious bathrooms with stylish fittings; one wetroom and one bathroom, both finished in polished stone and with plenty of space for the ultimate relaxing bubble bath.

Fluffy towels and crispy white linen is included during your stay.

OUTSIDE

A generous, enclosed courtyard comes equipped with outdoor furniture for alfresco evenings in the summer months.

During your stay you will have the entire place to yourselves but our Superhost, Chris is only a phone call away if you need anything at all!

The apartment is owned by Lizzie and Peter and hosted by Chris who takes care of the day to day management. Chris is based locally and always on hand to help.

Murphys House is in an ideal spot to enjoy all that Bath has to offer. You’ll find the Roman Baths, Thermae Spa, Pump Room Restaurant and The Rec just a 10-minute walk away, and the impressive Royal Crescent and Victoria Park are about a 15-minute walk from the apartment. A whole host of great shops and restaurants are also within walking distance, as well as the cinema and The Theatre Royal.

The house is only a 10-minute walk from Bath Spa train station, the main bus station is also only a 10-minute walk and has links to Bristol, Wells and Frome – perfect for day trips. Due to the central location, unfortunately the property doesn't come with an allocated space or permit. If you're looking for a car park, we would recommend Charlotte Street long-stay (postcode: BA1 2NE). There are always spaces available and it's monitored by cameras. The cost is currently £15 for 12 hours, £30 for 48 hours, but please double check this. The maximum stay is 7 days (you can pay for your parking at the machines or online at MI Permits website or app). Otherwise we would suggest coming by train, where possible.

What the Owner has to say:

"As frequent travellers we didn't want to create 'just another' short term letting so went all out when listing our home. We've kept some of our original artwork in the the property and fitted the beds with the best memory foam mattresses we could find. On the tech side we've put app enabled TV's in along with ultrafast broadband + turned the snug into a dedicated workspace or family friendly area depending on your needs. We've also installed a Lavazza coffee machine and left a libraries worth of books, both fiction and non, to ensure you've always got something to do. We raised our family here so you'll benefit from a Nest enabled thermostat + top of the line smoke and co2 alarms throughout + a high chair and cot if needed. Look carefully and you'll even find the hat Peter bought at a festival when he was trying to pretend he was still young enough to pull it off!

It was a great home and we loved living there, we hope you enjoy your stay as much as we enjoyed getting it ready for you. If there's anything we can do to maximise your stay, just let us know."

The family purchased the house in 2009. They bought it as a renovation project with the potential to create a wonderful family home in the city centre. The house has seen the family grow over the years with their two beautiful children and Murphy, the dog. They now live just outside of the city but welcome visitors to share in Bath’s delights. St Anns Place is a rare gem that you cannot find anywhere else in Bath, built in 1788 it is a perfect example of Bath stone combined with the architecture that makes Bath so spectacular. We hope that you will enjoy the house and Bath!
